Fusing rustic elements with soft pink hues, this couple’s cross-cultural reception emanated soft glam

From colleagues to friends and finally as life partners, Neby Bose, an HR Professional, and Joshy Joseph, a techie, celebrated their love and union in an intimate reception. Hosted at The Leela Palace Bengaluru which is known for its regal architecture and excellent hospitality, this celebration was all about luxury despite being a close-knit one.
Planned and decorated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Flinters Management who meticulously looked into every single detail, the event warmed hearts and enchanted the senses with its wondrous charm.

Neby fondly recollects, “Joshy and I first crossed paths at work where we were both starting out. As we slowly started getting acquainted with the people within the company, we would often spot each other at various places like the cafeteria, lobby, and basement. Then one day he came over and struck up a conversation with me. In the initial conversations itself, we were both aware that there was something special between us and soon enough, both of us admitted the same to each other.
We did witness our share of ups and downs as Joshy is Christian and I hail from the Kerala Nair community. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for both our families to relent to our union owing to vehement protests and grilling sessions!”
Keen on having a good time while keeping the safety of their loved ones a priority, the couple chose The Leela Palace in Bengaluru as their venue. Neby says, “We wanted the venue to be classy and that is exactly what we got at The Leela Palace Bengaluru. Since this was a lockdown wedding, and many of our family members were stepping out after months we were eager for them to have a good time. With the help of our planning team, we narrowed our list down to a few hotels but after seeing The Leela Palace Bengaluru, our minds were made up. After meeting their team and strolling around its tastefully appointed interiors, we were incredibly satisfied!”
After conducting a closely-knit, fuss-free civil marriage ceremony that was perfect for the cross-cultural couple, the duo planned to follow it up with a small dinner party. With the help of Flinters Management, this vision was expanded into a beautiful celebration. Comprising of rustic wooden elements and vibrant pink blooms, the reception event was a romantic one. A half floral arch paired with a wooden backdrop graced the stage while a canopy of twinkling fairy lights under the night sky gave the guests the overall feel of lounging under the stars. The entrance was delicately decorated with pink roses and baby’s breath to greet the guests.
Describing the planning process, Neby shares, “At first, both of us were absolutely confused as to where we should begin. The planning process seemed pretty daunting and we didn’t want to make any rash decisions. But the moment team Flinters Management jumped into the fray, things started falling into place. They met with us a couple of times and we developed a great rapport with them, enough to be able to completely hand over the reins to them. They took our vision of a simple dinner and made it more fun by adding their inputs! Additions like an emcee, dance performances and interactive games made the reception an unforgettable event!”
The happy bride also raves about the photography team that effortlessly captured their playful as well as emotional moments. Neby says, “Working with the Shutterbug Film Company was a very smooth experience. They were very friendly and made both of us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera enabling us to express ourselves freely!”
Having experienced the roller-coaster ride of orchestrating a wedding and reception during such an uncertain time, Neby has only one piece of advice – “Do your research and get a wedding planner on board.” She further advises, “As a soon-to-be-wed, you’ll have enough things on your plate to worry about and taking on the colossal task of planning will add to the stress more so. Instead, hand it over to professionals who’ll understand your needs and deliver accordingly.”
