Fusing simplicity and glamour, this couple’s wedding was a traditional celebration that paid homage to their roots
Wedding Planning - Dec 7, 2023
Pooja Thakur and Darshan’s union exuded glamour while honouring traditions. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Castles and Coasters, the wedding witnessed moments of candid love and warmth as the couple made their dreams come true.
Pooja and Darshan first met at a tender age. However, their love for each other grew as they became distinct individuals who followed their calling. Years later, when they reconnected, they understood each other thoroughly as mature beings who understood themselves and each other seamlessly.
Edul Mahudavala and Namha Malhotra from Castles and Coasters share, “Originally their wedding took place during Covid but they wanted to celebrate their nuptials hence on their anniversary they decided to get married again. The bride, Pooja Thakur, is from Indore however they chose Mumbai and their family & friends joined them here for it. The couple began the festivities with a home-based pooja where the decor was kept simple with lots of florals. Next in line was an elegant and close-knit mehndi ceremony. As the DJ played enchanting tunes, the bride surrounded by her squad got henna patterned on her palms. They wanted to elevate the experience of Mumbai as it’s an integral part of their love story. The decor focused on the bridal seating and ensuring it made her feel special. The groom specially gave suggestions to make sure she felt like a superstar on her special day. After the mehndi session, the couple took to the dancefloor where they danced in unison.” Adorned with pampas grass, gypsos, roses and a bright red couch which was the bride’s seat, the decor exuded rustic simplicity.
Edul Mahudavala and Namha Malhotra go on to add, “Two days later, the couple hosted their wedding at a luxurious hotel in the city. The wedding was a highly spiritual one as the couple tied the knot under a canopy of pink and white blooms surrounded by their loved ones. True to their roots, the wedding was a traditional one with dashes of modern design. The most memorable part of the celebration was her bridal walk where she teared up and carried a photo of her father who had dreamed of this day while walking in with her nieces and nephews. The walk didn’t just reflect getting her to the mandap but it showcased their dreams, aspirations and how they felt for each other. Also, all the guest outfits were handpicked and chosen by the bride herself, she not only did her outfit but all the 100 guests as well!”
Gushing about the planning team, bride Pooja goes on to share, “Castles and Coasters made our wedding an amazing experience! We are so thankful that they were a part of our celebrations as they added to the beauty of the occasion.”
