Fusing the best of two cultures, this wedding of two childhood sweethearts will restore your faith in love
Wedding Planning - Dec 2, 2022
Rich in multicultural traditions and adorned in vivid colours, childhood sweethearts Mamta and Shashank’s wedding in the city of Bangalore was a series of fun-filled celebrations. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Weddings by Shubharambh, this fusion wedding flaunted multicultural elements with absolute elan.
Nisha Shrivastava from Weddings by Shubharambh shares the unforeseen challenges they faced as they went ahead orchestrating the celebrations, “Mamta and Shashank’s wedding spanned a total of three days around the end of November. However, the weather took a turn for the worse as those days witnessed one of the highest rainfall levels in the history of Bangalore during the month of November.
For us, it was a sweet moment of victory as we had fought against all odds to make a couple’s dream come true! As the couple hails from different cultures, namely, Kannadiga and Marwari, hence two different weddings were hosted at the same venue with a two-hour break in between. This, in turn, made this a one-of-a-kind celebration.”
Kicking off the celebrations was a bohemian mehndi that was punctuated by an array of hues. And after the ladies applied henna, they took the dancefloor by storm as they danced to the beats of their favourite tracks. Next in line was the haldi which was traditional with hues of yellow. Seated in brass urlis, the couple had a gala time as they threw flower petals at each other playfully and were showered with a ‘phoolon ki barsaat’.
Sangeet showcased the glamorous side of the couple and their families with its glitzy setup. A colossal monochrome stage gave everyone a clear view of the performances while the gold LED candles in the back lit the stage up in a golden glow.
Saving the best for the last, the couples wedding day was busy as well as beautiful! With a traditional Kannadiga wedding taking place at four in the morning, the planning team waved their magic wands on as they transitioned the mandap from a serene white and gold creation with lotus garlands to a rich Marwari wedding mandap decorated with rose and crystal drops. And, what’s more – this was done within a span of two hours! Determined to make the bride’s dream of an outdoor wedding come to life, the planning team beat all the odds to create a stunning waterproof setup with a sharp deadline while battling the rain. In the end, however, all the hard work paid off as the wedding was a joyful one.
