WeddingSutra Engage, Wedding Summit & Masterclass - Oct 12, 2017
WeddingSutra hosted a two-day Masterclass at The Wedding Collective exhibition, described as ‘a luxury one-stop wedding destination’ and organized by Ritu Bagrodia and Shilpa Jatia at the Four Seasons Mumbai on October 5th & 6th. The WeddingSutra Lounge at the glitzy venue decorated by Afreen Florist saw key style influencers, leading wedding industry professionals and engaged audience members exchange insights and views via interactive panel discussions and stimulating conversations.

Day 1:
The Masterclass session on October 5th was preceded by an informal ‘Conversation over Coffee’ on the theme ‘From Connections to Celebrations’. WeddingSutra CEO Parthip Thyagarajan moderated the discussion between Vidya Zaveri, businesswomen and matchmaker for the elite, and Mahesh Shirodkar, CEO of Tamarind Global.

This was followed by a panel discussion moderated by lifestyle and luxury connoisseur Pratima Bhatia.

Pratima started the discussion with a ‘rapid fire’ round where each panelist gave instant recommendations to her queries such as “Heels or flats?” for weddings. The dialogue led to deeper insights into what’s trending in cuts and colors, and traditional yet contemporary options for new-age brides. Pratima deftly steered the conversation to focus on individual aspects such as bridal fashion trends, do’s and don’ts and smart trousseau selections for urban brides. The audience also got to know expert insights into how to look effortlessly elegant on their big day.

Day 2:
The second Masterclass session took place the following day on October 6th, and the focus here was health and beauty. This session brought brides-to-be up close and personal with experts in their fields such as celebrity nutritionist Kinita Kadakia Patel, Dermatologist Dr. Snehal Sriram and celebrity makeup whiz Ojas Rajani.
Kinita’s talk was on the importance of personalizing a nutrition plan to fit a bride’s individual needs instead of following any diet fad. She went on to explain the nutritional value of several everyday foods and ingredients and healthier substitutes for certain food items. She also shared a handy guide on identifying which foods would work in order to gain different results.

This was followed by a session by leading dermatologist Dr.Snehal Sriram who gave the bride tips and tricks in order to get a radiant skin. She discussed the skin care routines fit for different skin types and helped them chalk out a timeline to achieve their skin related goal in time for their wedding.

Her informative session was followed by a hands-on beauty and makeup presentation by Ojas Rajaniwho did an on-the-spot makeover so audience members could learn the correct makeup application techniques. She also shared beauty tips and tricks that were perfected by her years of experience doing bridal makeup. The audience came away from this enlightening session with tangible and practical knowledge about beauty and makeup.

The second session was the highly-anticipated panel discussion by five ‘Wedpreneurs’ who shared secrets of becoming successful in the weddings industry. The stimulating discussion where each one of them shed light on their area of expertise, was moderated by Parthip Thyagarajan, and the panelists included:

Anand Rathi spoke about photography styles that are gaining popularity and gave a forecast of what could be anticipated in the wedding photography arena in the coming year. While Janki Desai presented décor ideas, Priyanka Arora spoke about interesting wedding elements that were picking up pace. Ranjani Iyengar threw light on the wedding stationery and innovative invitation cards that couples were opting for these days, while Pranav Thakkar drew focus on everyone’s favorite station at any wedding – the bar.
