Wedding Planning - Aug 16, 2022
Encircled by greenery and exuding a simplistic yet elegant vibe with its nostalgic desi elements that tugged at the heartstrings, Kavisha and Kandarp Jani’s wedding in Ahmedabad, Gujarat was a unique one. Decorating their wedding was WeddingSutra Favorite – Pristine Paige Events who with their creative insights and keen understanding crafted a wedding that left a lasting impression.
For Purva Patel from Pristine Paige Events, emotions and creativity go hand in hand. She won the couple over with her unique ideas and planning skills by creating an ‘Aantarang’ themed decor. She goes on to share, “The word ‘Aantarang’ means personal, close or intimate, and that is exactly what Kavisha and Kandarp’s wedding was! Marriages are all about starting a new life together. For the bride especially, this is a pivotal moment considering that she is moving to a new home and family. Taking a cue from all the emotions that run through a wedding, we chose elements that would resonate with the couple’s memories. Using props that remind one of a beloved grandparents’ place, where most of us have spent many happy childhood days, we created an ambience that was thoroughly Indian and nostalgic!”
By carefully sifting through the bride and groom’s memories, Purva selected elements that would hit home! Giving us an in-depth overview of the elements used, Purva shares, “Vintage style dolls and props gave a quirky feel. Adding a dash of color were floral urlis and rangolis displayed by most Indian households in the bygone era. Old wooden furniture, a flex pattern on the floor that resembled athangudi tiles and pickle barnis further accentuated the nostalgic vibe! Flanking the mandap was a richly hued chintz fabric-inspired backdrop that contrasted beautifully with the bright marigolds and the dark green foliage. A gramophone, a carefully carved dressing table and a vintage sewing machine added interest to the decor and made the surroundings seem homely.”
With an entryway adorned with suspended marigold garlands and tassels, the guests were in for a gorgeous welcome at the wedding. As the couple exchanged garlands on the specially crafted flower-laden varmala stage, the setting looked picture-perfect under the sunshine that filtered through the tree branches.
