Kalyani and Siddhesh’s Beautiful Pre-Wedding Shoot in Budapest
Pre Wedding Photoshoots, Wedding Photography & Films - Jan 8, 2018
Gorgeous Budapest may be one of the most beautiful capitals in all of Europe. An amalgam of three cities – Obuda, Buda and Pest – the majestic Danube dissects it. Historic importance, wonderful architecture and an old-world charm jostle with modern urban delights; Buda’s romantic streets and alleyways are the perfect balance to Pest’s bustling cultural centre.
It’s no surprise that the city captured Kalyani and Siddhesh’s fancy and they chose to shoot here for four whole days with WeddingSutra Photography Awards Nominee Knotty Affair across Budapest’s spectacular sights.
How We Met
We were on a trek to Torna Fort and Kalyani was feeling uneasy. I offered her some water but we didn’t really exchange any words. Later, through the trek, we kept seeing one and other and by the end of the day, there was definitely a spark.
A week later, we connected on social media, met for coffee the day after and we got along like a house on fire.
Pre-Wedding Shoot
We wanted a pre-wedding shoot in a previously unexplored location. We wanted to travel out of the country to a place with novel backdrops so our pictures would be really unique. We set up a Whatsapp group with Namit and Vipul and told them what we’d like. After a lot of brainstorming and much discussion, we decided Budapest was the place for us.
With a location this stunning, we had no reason to incorporate any other elements to enhance the frames. There was no theme either. We just focused on keeping the pictures simple and elegant. This aesthetic followed through – make up was minimal, Kalyani styled herself in a couple of beautiful gowns and I wore a formal blazer as we shot against historic settings. For pictures in other scenic locations, we wore casual clothes.
The timing of our shoot saw some erratic weather in Budapest – light showers, chilly winds, inadequate sunlight – and this was a challenge. It’s not easy to pose effortlessly under Charles Bridge when your entire body is shivering in the cold winds blowing incessantly!
Despite all of this, the entire experience was fabulous! We got a chance to explore the city, take in its natural beauty and marvel at the breathtaking architecture. Some of the funniest and fondest memories we have are of scouring the streets looking for Indian restaurants that served vegetarian food!
This pre-wedding shoot drew us closer to each other as a couple and helped us understand each other better. Moreover, Namit and Vipul were so great to work with. In the four days that we spent with them, we earned two good friends.
