Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2015 – Raghuvendra Rathore’s elegant collection
Bridal Fashion and Beauty - Mar 23, 2015
Jodhpur born designer, Raghavendra Rathore returned to Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2015 by unveiling his lastest collection presented in 3 capsules, a first of its kind where a high-end bespoke line was presented on the same platform as a ready to wear line. Setting the tone for the presentation was the launch of a new Ready-to-Wear line – ‘The Imperial India Company’ (IIC), followed by an introduction to the Raghavendra Rathore Foundation to celebrate the textile day and lastly – a bespoke collection by the parent brand ‘Raghavendra Rathore’ was showcased.
The “Imperial India Company” is the ready-to-wear designer diffusion label, by Raghavendra, which was inspired by the Raj and featured Indo-Western styling.
“Raghavendra Rathore Foundation” which is a celebration of hope was not only a line for a humanitarian initiative aimed to give the disadvantaged support, but also provide a stable livelihood and promote rural handicraft.
Finally the ‘Raghavendra Rathore’ bespoke custom clothing menswear collection takes inspiration from the royal lineage of the brand and offers inspiring options for grooms-to-be. Jodhpuri bandgalas and breeches along with black printed kurta, brocade Sherwani and shimmering Jodhpur coat made a striking appearance on the catwalk. Wide dhoti salwars, black and gold angarkha, and off-white kurta with black dhoti, revealed the bespoke/customer clothing menswear label that Raghavendra is known for.
Ritesh Deshmukh was the showstopper in a brocade Nehru jacket, black kurta and white churidars.
