Love Actually- Kunjika Talpade and Alok Pastekar’s Platinum Day of Love

Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ is a photo series featuring engaged couples who actively seek ideas and inspiration from WeddingSutra. The series celebrates beautiful people in love as they start their lives together: because real love can only begin, never end.
Alok Pastekar, an automotive systems engineer from Wolverhampton University, UK, and Kunjika Talpade an Art Director who currently works in an ad agency in Dubai will tie the knot in February 2016. Originally from Mumbai, these two call their love story A Friendly Affair.
Introduced by their best friends, Alok and Kunjika, first met in 2011. They kept bumping into one another whenever their friends came to town but were completely oblivious to the fact that something bigger and better was in the works for them. In 2014, they met without their friends for the first time and sparks flew. From there on, it’s been a fairy tale journey for this lovely couple.
They did their pre-wedding shoot at the fabulous Sula Vineyards in Nashik, where they first met. A beautiful evening with the magical setting of the Sula campus enhanced the sparkling bond evident between Alok and Kunjika. A perfect combination for a perfect evening.
Alok says “Having met Kunjika through my best friends, I found myself considering the feelings of three different people. I had a lot to lose if I messed up. I knew it was meant to be when I confided in her and found out, that all this time, she was worried about the same thing! I knew I had found someone who cares and loves as much as I do. Overtime I’ve realized she cares even more.” Kunjika says, “Honestly, I feel sometimes the most beautiful relationships are the ones you never expected to be in. When I first met Alok, I never thought I would be in a relationship with him. But now it is impossible to think it could be anyone apart from him. He is the person who entered my life out of nowhere and suddenly became the whole world to me.”
They just can’t wait to start their lives together as husband and wife, and along with their families are currently busy prepping for the wedding.
They want to have a traditional Maharashtrian wedding, the beautiful women in the family adorning paithanis, the men wearing vibrant dhotis and phetas (headgear), the classic sanai playing in the background, all on the beautiful lawns of the Mumbai Cricket Association.
An art director, Kunjika is personally overseeing the detailing of the decor, the design of the invitation cards and other visual nitty-gritty. Alok grins, “She’s picky and gets worked up at times, but then the end result is always beautiful, so I trust her with it all.”
Alok has always been the practical, non-cheesy one in the relationship while Kunjika believes in fairy tales and is a die hard romantic. But their personalities have rubbed off on each other and their equilibrium is perfect!
