Love Actually- Rhea Hirani and Rishabh Shah’s Platinum Day of Love

Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ is a photo series featuring engaged couples who actively seek ideas and inspiration from WeddingSutra. The series celebrates the beautiful people in love as they start their lives together. Because real love can only begin, never end. Over coffee, a makeover and a photo shoot we get to-be-weds to tell us how they met, show us their platinum love bands and talk about their day of love.
Rishabh and Rhea, both from Mumbai met each other through a common friend at a conference organized at their college. Says Rishabh, “Rhea was a year junior to me at HR College of Commerce and Economics. The funny thing is that we were in the same college, we met in September 2010 and started seeing each other in January 2011. And ironically, most of her batch mates knew me but not her. Truly certain things happen only when they are meant to. After we first met we spent more time with each other and worked on a few projects together, and this helped us get to know each other better.”
Fast forward to three years and nine months later, the couple got engaged on 3rd October 2014 at a small private affair at Rishabh’s home in South Mumbai with immediate family members in attendance. Rhea recalls, “His mother prepared an elaborate fare for all the guests true to the spirit of a Gujarati household!”
The couple will be tying the knot next year. “These are the days of wedding preparations so me and Rhea have been logging on to WeddingSutra regularly. Its amazing how the website and its FB page have a wealth of information and ideas for couples getting married in any city. On WeddingSutra, we found the Canvera’s Photographers Directory very helpful while we were shortlisting candid photographers. Also, the honeymoon related offers they have developed in association with A Travel Duet. We haven’t finalized on our honeymoon destination yet– it all depends on how many days we can take off post the wedding. As of now we’re inclined to Mauritius or New Zealand.”
Adds Rhea: “While I might be spending more hours researching online, Rishabh’s inputs on event planning are extremely useful– he knows how to get the information we are looking for quickly and how to work out an effective event plan. I on the other hand enjoy working on the creative elements– invitations, decor and clothes/ shopping.”
Amid all the wedding planning, Rishabh is looking to take out time to find the perfect platinum ring for Rhea. He says: “A beautiful hand without a platinum ring is a masterpiece painted on a napkin. I think platinum depicts what is pure, simple and elegant, just like our love for each other”.
