Love Actually- Rohita Rambabu and Aloke Madappa’s Platinum Day of Love

Our new initiative- ‘Love Actually’ is a photo series featuring engaged couples who actively seek ideas and inspiration from WeddingSutra. The series celebrates beautiful people in love as they start their lives together. Because real love can only begin, never end. Over coffee, a makeover and a photo shoot we get to-be-weds to tell us how they met, show us their platinum love bands and talk about their day of love.
Rohita, a Digital Marketing executive and Aloke, a Corporate litigation lawyer, met through common friends and were friends for the longest time before they decided to start dating. Says Rohita “We were so different but bonded over so many common interests, and two years into the relationship we knew we were made for each other. Aloke proposed by taking me out to dinner before our official engagement and he presented the most beautifully worded handwritten letter. Once I read the letter, I looked to find him on his knees. It was simple, old-fashioned and just beautiful! He knew I wouldn’t be comfortable with an over-the-top proposal so I absolutely loved what he did.”
Rohita and Aloke’s official engagement took place at Bangalore Club in April 2013, with 200 of their close family and friends. They are tying the knot this month and are now busy with the last minute preparations. Says Aloke: “Our wedding will be a traditional Coorg wedding with lots of pandi curry, alcohol and dancing. Our parents literally took over the reigns and managed all the initial preparations, which was a huge relief for us! I majorly took a call on the food and Rohita had a say in all things creative like decor and invitates. The most fun part of wedding planning was spending time doing things that otherwise we would never do together like shopping.” Adds Rohita: “At the moment, its all quite hectic with so much happening at the same time. My room resembles a railway station, and even though I have taken leave from office, wedding work seems equally hectic. But with all the excitement at home and among friends, its all happy-stress and we can’t wait for the big day.”
