Love Actually- Tanvi Sharma and Manish Dhingra’s Platinum Day of Love
Love Actually, Precious Platinum - Nov 17, 2014
Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ is a photo series featuring engaged couples who actively seek ideas and inspiration from WeddingSutra. The series celebrates the beautiful people in love as they start their lives together. Because real love can only begin, never end. Over coffee, a makeover and a photo shoot we get to-be-weds to tell us how they met, show us their platinum love bands and talk about their day of love.
Tanvi and Manish were both part of a popular dance class in Delhi NCR and they met through a common friend at one of the socials held at Hotel Ashok. Little did they know that the informal introduction would turn into something so beautiful and romantic. Post their first meeting Tanvi and Manish decided to keep in touch and exchanged numbers but they didn’t meet in person for four years. Says Tanvi: “I moved to Mumbai to pursue my career ambitions in Sales and Marketing with an MNC. Manish continued to follow his entrepreneurial pursuits in Delhi. We didn’t talk on phone frequently but we never missed greeting each other on our birthday and other special days like New Year’s and Diwali. And Manish would often quip that Delhi is lackluster without me!”
Four years later, Tanvi returned to Delhi to pursue her entrepreneurial dreams, and she started a marketing communications company along with her best friend. This time she and Manish met in person at a work-related workshop and as Tanvi explains it was indeed a special meeting for it helped rekindle ties. Gradually, interactions between Tanvi and Manish increased and she introduced him to her close friends. But as Tanvi explains there was a bit of uncertainty into what was developing. “Manish expressed his interest, but I was a little unsure then and I needed time. He understood this and was patient, but in many ways this admission of intent was the first seeds sown for building a life long connect through matrimony.”
Manish had this firm belief that every girl deserves a proposal and he states “A formal proposal with a ring, which shows effort and desire makes the girl feel like she is the most special person on this planet.” And he formally proposed his love to Tanvi in Kashmir, at a scenic setting in the middle of the Shikara on the Nagin Lake in Srinagar.
Tanvi and Manish are getting married in February 2015, in Delhi. About their preparations, Tanvi says, “The first step was to book the venue as February is a very busy month for weddings. With that completed, we have been busy planning the other details to ensure our big day is the way we want it to be!” Adds Manish: “All the wedding planning is being done by both of us, and her event management skills have really come handy.” Amid planning their wedding, the couple are also busy planning their honeymoon and are working out to look their best! Says Tanvi, “Manish has always been into sports. He plays squash almost everyday. Manish motivated me to join Fitness First Platinum and I have been training with a Personal Trainer for 3 months! Post the wedding, we are equally excited about the honeymoon as both of us are travel buffs. We are thinking of New Zealand or Fiji- New Zealand offers beautiful landscapes, lakes and adventure sports whereas Fiji offers pristine beaches, romance and adventure. We have been researching on websites like A Travel Duet to learn more about both destinations and we hope to take a decision soon!”
Tanvi concludes: “WeddingSutra has been our companion all this while. Their tips and features on wedding planning, invitations, décor ideas and honeymoons are super helpful.” Adds Manish: “And thanks to WeddingSutra Tanvi came across this fun pre-wedding shoot ‘Love Actually’ and convinced me to be a part of it. Our shoot took place at the very scenic Gateway Resort, run by the Taj Group. It was a welcome change from the usual work and wedding planning routine and turned out to be a most memorable and enjoyable experience!”
