Love was perfectly framed against London’s retro backdrops in this pre-wedding photoshoot.
Pre Wedding Photoshoots - Jan 29, 2020
Based out of London and lawyers by profession, Danielle and Nikhil followed up a dreamy proposal in Florence with a romantic pre-wedding photoshoot to mark the beginning of a new chapter of their lives. The couple picked WeddingSutra Favorite – Wedding Krafter by Anoop Padalkar to capture their moments of love in London.
Danielle shared, “Because our wedding was in India, we wanted to do the pre-wedding shoot in our home city of London. A few weeks before the shoot, Nikhil and I went scouting for potential venues. After combing through popular choices like St Paul’s Cathedral, we found a wonderful little spot called St. Dunstan in the East. Largely destroyed during the Second World War, the overgrown rugged greenery of the church has transformed into a haven in the midst of tall, contemporary buildings. Ethereal and romantic, it was perfect as a background.”
“The weather was a big concern for the shoot. London is not known for predictable weather, even in July. We had woken early to get a shot on Millennium Bridge in front of St Paul’s, but it was cold and raining. We waited for a moment and Anoop recommended that we try the shot anyway. The shot with a moody skyline ended up being one of my favorites. We also took some shots in the Westminster area. We mainly walked around, and Anoop spotted some great backdrops between locations. These impromptu shots, particularly the ones in front of old London pubs and telephone boxes, are some of my favorite clicks from the shoot.”
To maintain a distinct contrast with their wedding photographs which would all feature Indian outfits, the couple went with elegant Western ensembles. Danielle explained, “You can’t see from the shots, but there were lots of people around. It was a challenge to take good pictures with so many distractions, but Anoop deftly got great shots. Most of the shots were taken in the ‘City’ area of London, which is where we met and fell in love. It was special to revisit this area, anticipating our wedding, and have photographs to look back on forever.”
Talking about their experience with Anoop, Danielle added, “Anoop is excellent at giving directions for the shots, which is really important if you have not had much experience in front of the camera. His eye for locations and lighting is unparalleled. We were so happy with the results from both the pre-wedding and the wedding itself.”
The couple tied the knot at a gorgeous multi-cultural wedding in Jaipur in November. “We were keen to find a venue in Rajasthan and found our dream location at Samode Palace. We worked with Enjay Events to plan and execute the wedding, and had a series of fun events with distinct themes and flavors.”
