Wedding Planning - Feb 2, 2024
A wedding that was nothing short of sheer magnificence planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Vivaah Celebrations, this union had it all! The wedding of leading fashion designer Shilpi Gupta’s daughter, Honey with Aditya, the union celebrated the beauty of Indian aesthetics and combined it with opulent contemporary charm.
Rahul Kumar from Vivaah Celebrations shares, “The wedding was hosted at the plush Palazzo Versace Dubai which is one of the world’s most luxurious hotels. It was a three-day celebration that honed our skills as destination wedding planners. Every moment from the Dolce Vita Welcome Lunch, to the Grand Finale was a testament to the sophistication and glamour epitomized by legends such as Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and many more.”
The guests, as expected, were in for a treat right from the very step into the venue. Rahul shares, “As the guests arrived, they were welcomed with the enchanting tunes of a flutist in a resplendent gold gown. The Arabian delicacies and refreshing treats served upon entry hinted at the culinary delights that awaited them.”
When you’re surrounded by all things designer, Dolce & Gabbana, naturally comes into the picture! Inspired by the iconic fashion house, the planning and design team crafted a Dolce Vita Lunch which was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece! Rahul shares, “Hostesses adorned in Italian Dolce Vita dresses welcomed the guests, offering Limoncello in charming bottles presented on a stylish Italian display. This refreshing drink paved the way for a sensory journey through the lush greens, vibrant lemons, and an exquisite bar setup that embraced cryo and molecular techniques with an innovative approach. The bar was adorned with an array of fresh fruits and accessories, featured a stunning cryo effect that added a touch of theatrical magic to the ambience. Guests were captivated by the molecular mixology as skilled bartenders crafted innovative concoctions. The food display was a work of art, complemented by exquisite Italian sculptures, charming tables, and a picturesque gazebo reminiscent of the enchanting Italian gardens.”
This was followed by ‘Shringaar Teeka’ High-Tea set against the breathtaking backdrop of the venue’s Mosaico Terrace. Rahul shares, “ As guests indulged in the Maharaja High Tea, served in exquisite Versace cups, an immersive experience awaited them at the perfume bar. Guests were invited to craft their unique scents from a selection of exotic fragrances.”
For the sangeet evening, glamour was omnipresent with a Roberto Cavalli inspired event. Rahul shares, “A crystal saxophone player serenaded guests in the pre-function area, creating an ethereal atmosphere beneath the starry night. The ballroom was adorned with majestic crystals and flourishing blooms. Fresh roses permeated the air, and the atmosphere echoed an IIFA show, complete with spectacular performances that captivated the audience. The bar, with its exclusive cocktails, blended seamlessly with the rhythmic beats of the celebration.”
The next morning paved the way for the wedding, which was an ode to tradition. Rahul shares, “Live stations crafted authentic dosas and upmas, while the scent of jasmine flowers enveloped the venue. The mandapam, situated right in the center of the Palazzo Versace Pool, surrounded by peacock installations, pink lotus flowers and hanging jasmines created an idyllic ambiance. Traditional nadaswaram performers filled the air with their melodious tunes as the bride and groom, accompanied by chenda melam drummers, embarked on their wedding ceremony. The Kathakali dancers then graced the stage. The celebration continued with coconut waters bearing the customized logo of the couple. The groom, Aditya, led a grand royal baraat procession, complete with a vintage car, drummers, and a majestic band. The highlight of this Baraat was a mesmerizing Dabke Dance performance, seamlessly fusing Arabian culture into the celebration. Dressed in a custom-made attire with a long 5-meter veil, curated by her mother, the bride walked in under the phoolon ki chaadar adorned with real peacock feathers and roses. The High Tea that followed was inspired by Mathura where chefs churned out makhan and served it with toasts and tea, while an array of sweets and delicacies from Mathura adorned the tables.”
Rahul goes on to add, “The festivities culminated in a traditional Sajan Kot Dinner Reception, hosted in a ballroom adorned with fresh red roses. Majestic Egyptian tanoura dancers graced the venue and the guests were further enchanted with soulful live sufi music.”
