Neha and Yash’s Platinum Day of Love
Love Actually - Jan 20, 2020
Our initiative ‘Love Actually‘ features engaged couples and captures beautiful moments between them. The series celebrates people in love as they start their lives together. Over a fabulous makeover and a photoshoot, these couples share how they met while we document their unique connection on a very special day to celebrate their relationship – their very own ‘Day of Love’.
Some meet the love of their life in school while some find love in a work colleague. For others yet, it might be locking eyes with someone from across the room at a party. Neha and Yash, however, hadn’t come across their special one through any of the above, and thus decided to take matters into their own hands. They ended up approaching the same marriage mediator and went through multiple prospects before finding each other.
Neha says, “Both Yash and I had met several people before but none that we ever wanted to pursue. Meeting Yash, however, was like a jolt of electricity! The chemistry was so instantaneous. From love for experimenting with new cuisines and discovering unexplored destinations to a passion for photography, we bonded over several things. After months of meeting guys I didn’t find worth meeting a second time, my interest was piqued for the very first time, and I knew I wanted to meet him again”.
The more they got to know each other, the more they yearned to keep meeting. Before long, they were meeting almost every day. “We would just never stop talking. From interests and hobbies to work and life goals, we wanted to know everything about each other. Yash even tried to get to know more about my work and interests by approaching me through someone as a potential client! An admiration for each other’s professional achievements inspired a strong sense of mutual respect for each other.
We felt fortunate to have met each other and knew we’d stay friends, even if things didn’t work out” shares Neha.
Though they come from very different professional backgrounds, Neha and Yash harbor a deep interest in each other’s work and are able to bring in fresh perspectives on it. Yash owns an export business of Indian snacks while Neha works as a digital content creator, running her own boutique digital media agency. Neha says, “I have often faced disapproval or lack of understanding about my career as a digital influencer from more conservative members of my community, but Yash has been nothing but supportive about it. My day revolves around the camera, sometimes behind it and mostly in front. I was surprised to learn of Yash’s talent at editing videos. Not only did his insights result in me making better quality videos, but he also gave me valuable insight regarding my business strategies. I, on the other hand, have helped him hone and refine the digital campaigns for his company.”
Their differences extended beyond just professional backgrounds, to personal tastes and habits as well. However, here too, they were able to introduce each other to newer experiences and outlooks. “I have always been a dedicated Bollywood buff and never bothered to try listening to other music genres. Yash has opened my mind up to a huge variety of music that I never would have experienced otherwise. To my surprise, I have now become a fan of trance music. And Yash, who never gave two hoots about social media, has now become an avid Instagrammer and is even more particular than me when it comes to perfecting content to upload. Apart from his personal use, it has also greatly helped the digital presence of his company”.
It is usual to finalize an arranged match after just a few meetings, but the couple took their time to understand each other and truly fall in love, and getting engaged came as the next step in a natural progression. “Because we met through a formal meeting, our initial relationship was built on admiration and respect more than anything else. Our eventual love was nurtured out of the respect that we had developed for each other. When you remember the smallest habits and are receptive of each other’s way of life, it is indeed a beautiful feeling,” says a smiling Neha.
Yash chimes in, “For me, finding a soulmate was always about connecting on an intellectual level and not just emotional. Neha and I are always learning new things from each other. We constantly make each other better and I look forward to a lifetime of growing together.”
The best kind of love always has respect at its core, and Neha and Yash can truly say that from their personal to professional lives, they admire and inspire each other to be more in every way. A love like theirs could only be marked with something just as rare – platinum. Neha and Yash opted for elegant and understated Platinum Love Bands as the ultimate expression of their love.
Neha and Yash celebrated their platinum day of love at JW Marriott Sahar, beautiful moments of which was captured in timeless frames by Shreya Sen. Exquisite Platinum Guild Jewellery from Orra added to the sparkle of the occasion, while Kajol R Paswwan gave Neha a chic yet romantic makeover.
