1. WeddingNama
Imagine being in paradise on earth – in the garden of Eden that is Kashmir, holding each other as ancient, snow clad mountains stand sentinel in the backdrop or a lake sparkles like laughter. Ankita and Akash of WeddingNama are adept at bringing dramatic environmental elements into stunning frames.
“We spent a day in Srinagar and two days in Gulmarg to shoot the gorgeous couple Kiran and Vipul. It’s been our most challenging shoot in terms of the weather conditions. We braved temperatures below freezing point to accomplish something we’ve never done before. The amalgamation of a mad idea, a crazy couple in love, a stunning location, lots of snow, and of course our insane team is what you see in the final pictures” Ankita and Akash share.
2. Once Upon a Time – Wedding Tales
It’s the little things that can make a difference ot the big picture. There’s an incredible sense of shifting perspectives and moods in Komal and Prateeks pictures that play with balances of subject and backdrop. The pictures are amazing and it’s no mystery why they’re amongst our favorites.
“The shoot was a simple casual outing. We went early to Poovar Lake in Kovalam, took a 2-hour boat ride and then shot some portraits on the light-house beach. We were done in 4 short hours,” Komal and Prateek tell us. The pre-wedding pictures are deceptively casual but capture not just great aesthetic but also nuanced emotions with clarity and finesse.
3. Lights and Stories by Pramod
Pre-wedding shoots are a wonderful segue from your love story to your wedding day. The pictures, shot intuitively, can tell people who you are individually, what makes your relationship tick and where you’re going on your life’s journey. Pramod of Lights and Stories helps a couple achieve just that and much more. His pictures are like stills from a film – a keepsake rich with creative genius.
“We at Lights and Stories believe in creating out-of-the-box pictures. We are constantly thinking about new ideas. The groom Amol is a civil engineer and his bride Labdhi works with a construction company. We realized they’re both really passionate about their work and realized that our opportunity to push the envelope was right before us. We decided
There were no props or anything else needed thanks to the sheer chemistry between these two lovely souls”, shares Pramod.
4. WhatKnot
Structures, natural and manmade, always bring an interesting element to pre-wedding shoot photographs. Whether its age-old forts, iconic beaches, old trees or brickwork in a heritage precinct, the talented WhatKnot team manages to bring color and clear aesthetic to each shoot making for compelling viewing.
“We shot this beautiful couple at Ballard Estate in Mumbai. The idea was to get some classic pictures instead of the typical romantic pictures that we see every day. They chose Ballard Estate to showcase the Old Mumbai Buildings and the rich heritage it carries,” shares the team.
5. The Creative Lens
The Creative Lens’s pictures stand out due to many important factors – color, symmetry and a cinematic vision. They are masters at blending contrasting elements such as tradition and modernity, color and monochrome, lavish with minimalist. Just pick a mood you want for your pre-wedding shoot, and they will deliver.
“Ashmita and Jeet’s pre-wedding shoot was done at The Leela, Kovalam, where the wedding was the next day. We wanted to keep the photos simple, with a feel of the place focusing primarily on the wonderful chemistry Ashmita and Jeet have. Destination weddings sometimes force couples to crunch time but Ashmita and Jeet were very cooperative with whatever time we had in hand. There were small rituals lined up immediately after the shoot, but they carried themselves superbly well so that even in a short time we got beautiful photos. Sometimes simple photos tell a thousand stories about the couple and this turned out to be one such shoot,” say Shweta and Soumak.
