Our Favourite Pre Wedding Shoots In Ladakh
Pre Wedding Photoshoots - Jan 10, 2019
Ladakh is a haven of picture-perfect views. The mountainous terrain provides ample opportunities to those looking to mix romance with dramatic natural beauty for their pre-wedding photo shoot. Here are our top photo shoots that took place in lovely Ladakh.
A Picture of Bliss – Oragraphy
Oragraphy captured Harsh and Bhagyashree’s romance in some of Ladakh’s most evocative locations. From casual poses to dramatized frames, the images capture the powerful chemistry between the couple as they smile looking into each other’s eyes and whisper sweet nothings while posing at beautiful locations with clear skies, azure waters and barren mountains as their backdrop.
Romance and Fantasy – Kodoclicker
Kodoclicker shot at nearly 10,000 ft. above sea level for Gaurav and Krushika’s unique pre-wedding shoot in Ladakh. The Kodoclicker’s images exude romantic charm with the couple dressed to the nines. Snow-clad mountains beget romance but taking it up a notch, Gaurav and Krushika magicked a fairytale vibe with their shoot. In gorgeous Ladakh, the couple picked the most breathtaking locations as the rugged landscape under the stark blue sky, aligned by snow-crested peaks and some lush green patches of vegetation along the valleys formed by the perennial streams together make for a surreal scenic backdrop for their pre-wedding shoot.
Color Fiesta – Sunny Dhiman Photography
Whether it is shooting in remote locations or by some lush green patches of vegetation along the valleys formed by the perennial streams in Ladakh, Sunny Dhiman Photography always maintains his colorful aesthetic at each pre-wedding shoot. Apart from beautiful shots of Ashutosh and Bharti at Ladakh’s scenic locations, his images make for compelling viewing with their pops of color. After all, it is the little things that make a difference to the big picture.
Out of a Bollywood Song – Weddings by Knotty Days
Giving a filmy twist to Vishrut and Niharika’s wedding shoot, Weddings by Knotty Days replicates the dramatic vibe of hit starry couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol through slick frames against the icy backdrop of Ladakh’s snow-clad mountains. The couple even wear ethnic ensembles for some of the shots making them seem like a page out of a romantic Bollywood drama. From silhouettes to top shots, closeups and stunning drone photos, the images do justice to manmade attractions like a pretty bridge as well as the mesmerizing natural beauty of Ladakh, especially the brilliant blue lake and its grainy, sandy shore that makes for a compelling backdrop for those ‘lying in the sand’ couple pictures.
The Adventure Called Love – Dipak Studios
From the stunning blue lake to a macho bike, jeep and prayer flags, every frame in Rajat and Garima’s pre-wedding shoot in Ladakh incorporates exciting elements. The photos of Garima in a fiery red gown against the stark backdrop is just one example of a cleverly contrasted shot. The styling and ensembles chosen for this shoot are nothing short of impeccable and allow the couple to enact rugged, romantic, strong, feminine aspects of their story in stunning detail. Ladakh plays an integral role in this shoot as its different vistas – from the mountains to a lush valley – give this destination shoot a genuinely adventurous vibe.
Smitten in natural beauty and love – Visual Crafters
Jinisha and Romil’s photo shoot by Visual Crafters is a montage of exclusive backdrops enhanced by careful styling. The elegant duo raising a toast to their relationship besides a clear lake, dancing at a local festival, enjoying each other’s company at a monastery are some of the visuals that capture one’s attention. In their shoot that spans nine locations and explores nine different looks right from ethnic Indian to glamorous Western, the couple stirs up myriad moods and even add a touch of Bollywood! In one of the pictures, you can see Jinisha riding a bike wearing ethnic clothes as she draws inspiration from Kareena Kapoor Khan’s closing scene in ‘3 Idiots’.
Color pop – WeddingNama
Around 10,000 ft above sea level, against the lofty mountains of the Ladakh, Ankita and Akash of WeddingNama narrate a story that is as much about finding love as it is about finding oneself. The photographs deliver pictorial romance as the two are seen indulging in each other’s company. Against the natural tones of the mountains, the couple stand out in bright tones such as red, fuchsia and blue which adds a layer of intriguing aesthetic appeal.
“As we chatted with this couple, we realized they wanted elegance and class and so we came up with ‘Talaash’ as a concept. We would need stunning backdrops to tell the story perfectly and that is how we decided to shoot in Ladakh,” says Ankita.
Of pristine panoramas – Infinite memories
Paridhi and Abhishek’s photo series is a collection of gorgeous wide angle shots. Infinite Memories creates captivating frames with the duo standing against lofty mountains, far-stretching roads, and expansive lakes. The pictures extend to the viewer a sense of being frozen in time, as the duo holds each other in a loving embrace. While earthy tones make for an appealing color story, tender moments add a touch of warmth to the cold landscapes of Ladakh. The visuals are an escape into a dreamy world of romance that one usually only finds in films.
Making memories – Photo Tantra
Doctors Ditya and Smit prescribed to themselves a dose of untouched mountains, picture-perfect snowy backdrops, and cozy monasteries when it was their turn to orchestrate a memorable pre-wedding photo shoot. The beautiful lighting helped their emotions shine through in the frames and the breathtaking landscapes added rugged charm to the candid visuals. Elaborating on the shoot, the bride-to-be shares, “Vinayak Das and his team are excellent at their work. We had a great time and made so many memories and to top it all, got some great shots. One of my favorite pictures happened when we stopped at a tea stall on the way to Pangong Lake at Changla Pass. We also shot at Leh Palace, Thicksey Monastery, Hemis Gompa and Pangong Lake.”
Out of a painting – Shades Photography
Shweta and Manjeet’s pre-wedding photo shoot was a series of candid captures and interesting angles. Through their pictures, the photographers bring to focus some lesser viewed sights of Ladakh. The frames exude a certain cinematic quality that is further enhanced by the unique color story that works in alignment with the hues of the surroundings. A palette of deep green, pale yellow, white and black complement the clear skies, azure waters and barren mountains; and as the duo spend time with each other, romance fills the frames making the visuals more evocative and captivating.
In the moment – Naman Verma Photography
Through this photo shoot, Naman Varma helps viewers imagine Ladakh beyond the splendid panoramas typical of the land. He takes you through the cityscape – the settlements, the shops and eateries as he captures this duo exploring the city like locals. This helps add a casual and a more spontaneous vibe to the photographs, making it vastly different from the more frequently images of Ladakh. “We made sure that we did not appear like typical tourists and tried our best to explore different places, try out the cuisine, slurp on different kinds of teas and click Polaroids as we savored the mountains, rivers, valleys, and passes,” recalls bride-to-be Anupreet.
Dreamy art – Beunique
Last but certainly not the least is Anish and Grishma’s pre-wedding video. The film opens with the natural abundance of Ladakh and progresses to capture the local vistas. And as you see a visual of a smiling monk transform into a painting that Grishma is working on, the concept of the video becomes evident adding yet another compelling layer to the motion picture. The video is a painting inspired by Grishma’s dream that artfully captures the loving bond that the couple share in backdrops that include lush greenery and lovely waterfalls.
