Palak and Pratik’s Platinum Day of Love
Love Actually, Precious Platinum - Apr 5, 2018
Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ is a photo series featuring engaged couples who actively seek ideas and inspiration from WeddingSutra. The series celebrates the beautiful people in love and captures their unique connection in a memorable way as they start their lives together. Over coffee, a makeover and a photo shoot we get to-be-weds to share how they met, show us their platinum love bands, talk about what led them to believe they were meant to be and tell us about their day of love.
When they say love will find a way, in the age of technology, it only follows that there are even more ways to reach your heart. Palak is training to be a CA while Pratik owns a startup. The couple studied in the same institution but only connected via social media. Palak says, “We’d heard of each other in college but we connected only four years later on Instagram Direct Messaging where we got talking.” The couple would text all day and through the night on Instagram and before they knew it, they’d developed a very deep connection. Palak remembers the day they decided to move out of the internet and finally meet each other, “One movie date was all it took for us to realize that our feeling for each other were real.”
It only took one more meeting for them to fall in love. Palak says, “We have always been very comfortable with each other. As corny as it may sound we read each other’s minds, the connection we share is hard to explain but even more difficult to find. This is probably how we figured that it was love when we met the second time. Through our conversations, it was clear that what we felt was very special.” Pratik agrees, “We could feel all the vibes then and it didn’t change.”
The test of a good relationship is not the smooth sailing but the bumps in the road and Pratik tells us how the couple handles disagreements, “We usually don’t fight much, but if we do we always make up to each other in the most loving ways. It’s funny, but in our relationship, when, the other makes a mistake, it still comes with a perk. It is difficult to stay mad at each other since we know that a sweet gesture is going to follow!” He says that it’s these little acts and gestures and this longing that makes what they share one of a kind. With a bond so rare and precious, both qualities synonymous with platinum, it seemed fitting for them to express their love with love bands crafted in this lustrous metal.
For Pratik, Palak is the pillar of strength he needs, “She’s the calm to my chaos. She makes sure I eat healthily and live a very organized, balanced life. She has made me more responsible towards life and I love every bit of her!” On a lighter note, Palak adds, “I enjoy laughing at his lame jokes the most!” As they spent the day together, their beautiful chemistry came shining through.
One a sunny afternoon they celebrated falling in love. The setting was WeWork Marol, one of the most sought after co-working spaces in Mumbai. With platinum love bands from Malabar Gold & Diamond, the couple professed their love for each other. Makeup artist Aditi Mehra was at Palak’s side through the day making sure her makeup was intact and not a single strand of hair astray. While the duo spent tender moments together, Confetti Films deftly captured every precious expression in stunning frames.
