Planned by Perfexion Events, this lavish destination wedding at Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi saw a blend of Middle-Eastern grandeur and warm Indian traditions!
Wedding Planning - May 24, 2024
This stunning wedding getaway in Abu Dhabi was teeming with brilliant decor and memorable entertainment, expertly curated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Perfexion Events. Witness the festivities unfold below.
Wedding Planning
Hailing from Mumbai, the couple wanted to have a grand destination wedding in a palatial setting and after doing multiple recces in the most stunning palace hotels of Rajasthan, they finally decided to tie the knot in Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental.
Planning an International wedding, as glamorous as it sounds, comes with its own set of challenges, so for a seamless, professionally managed experience, the couple entrusted the team of Perfexion Events. Shedding light on their experience, Team Perfexion shares, “We had 45 days to plan their entire wedding in Abu Dhabi, including the Sangeet Ceremony in JIO Convention Centre Mumbai. While the Sangeet in Mumbai had a guest list of over 1200 guests, the destination wedding in Abu Dhabi had a guest list of over 250 guests. Managing tickets, VISAs, and the stay of guests as well as artists in such a short time was a big task. Emirates Palace is a huge property with multiple ways to reach the same venue, and the manning of team members was meticulously planned so guests do not get lost in the humongous property. We had dedicated 10 team members to guide guests to the venue. It also poured incessantly just a day before the festivities started, which was another challenging aspect in terms of meeting the production and technical deadline.”
Wedding Functions
Haldi and Mehndi
After a charming welcome for the guests with local Dabke dancers, the festivities kicked off with a beachside Haldi and Mehndi with a casual, fun-filled vibe! The couple had a flash mob entry with family and friends, which was followed by fun games and activities with celebrity anchor Vishal Rasquinha. The energy of the event was kicked up a notch with the musical genius of Best Kept Secret Band.
The couple’s Haldi ceremony was followed by ‘Phoolon ki Holi’, non-stop dancing to the mixes of DJ Nitesh, and delectable cocktails by The Drinq Company. The menu was also thoughtfully curated with a good mix of local, Indian, and International cuisines to cater to guests of all age groups. Stalls of Perfume/ Ittar, Arabic Calligraphy, and Sand Bottle Art, further added to the enjoyment of the guests.
Sufi Night
No wedding in the Middle East could be complete without a Sufi Night! Ferns N Petals Dubai had left no stone unturned to craft the surreal decor of the beachside soiree, complete with beautiful Mughal arches, Moroccan lamps, and candles. Sound vendor SoundKraft highlighted the venue façade with moonbeams to make the venue look even more majestic.
The evening started with an act by a handpan drummer, followed by a fire and LED tanoura act, and belly dance. The couple’s entry with Dervish dancers left everyone spellbound, as did the soulful renditions from Sufiyat Band by Yashraj Kapil. The guests also enjoyed the special Arabic Welcome, with dates, kawa, and a photography station where they could dress up in traditional Arabic garments.
Mandap Mahurat
Wedding
The wedding morning unfolded with Mandap Mahurat Pooja for both the bride and the groom, followed by a relaxed lunch with a lavish spread of world cuisines and a fun Turkish ice cream cart.
The groom’s baraat ditched the traditional ghodi and lawazma and instead had Simran Dholwalas, DJ Trolly with DJ Gautam, and Emcee Vishal Rasquinha, as he made a statement entry in a swanky white Rolls Royce. Baraatis enjoyed every bit of this fun baraat. Swapping out a grand entry with props and dancers for simplicity and emotion, the groom walked down the aisle with his parents while the bride made her entry under a beautiful phoolon ki chadar with her brothers.
Amidst beautiful SFX, they exchanged garlands and sat for their phera ceremony to the melody of the Mangal Phere group.
The guests were given Saptapadi notes to read during the ceremony, along with cones of floral confetti that they could shower on the couple. The mandap was the most beautiful part of the celebrations, with the Emirates Palace façade on one side and the beach on the other.
After Party
The wedding ceremony was followed by a Reception dinner with a trio of musicians – Flautist, Violinist and Harpist. The guests enjoyed the dinner with the newlyweds and showered their blessings on them. The epic Afterparty that followed had DJ Maddoc and VJ Sunny Bunny set the right mood. Specially curated 3D mesh wire visuals added to the vibe of the night.
