Pooja and Raj’s Platinum Day of Love
Love Actually, Pre Wedding Photoshoots - Feb 21, 2019
Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ features engaged couples and captures beautiful moments between them. The series celebrates people in love as they start their lives together. Over a fabulous makeover and a photo shoot, we get these couples to share how they met, capture the rare connection they have and talk about their day of love.
Falling in love is wonderful – that sense of euphoria, excitement, and feeling that you have finally found someone you are compatible with on many levels. You don’t even know how you lived without your soulmate for so long, as he or she becomes such a natural part of your life.
When Pooja and Raj were introduced to each other, they had no idea their lives were about to change forever. As this power couple shared their heart-warming story, Dev Purbiya Photography flawlessly captured their chemistry. The venue for the shoot was SPACES which is one of the most sought after co-working spaces in Mumbai. The couple spent a day working together and sharing pizza over lunch, and they told us all about their journey of love.
Pooja is the Regulatory Affairs Associate at Teva Pharmaceuticals, while Raj works as a Merchandiser and Financial Planner for Walmart.
Raj’s dad and Pooja’s uncle knew each other for years, so that was a common connection between these two ambitious individuals who first met at a Diwali event in Edison, New Jersey. Pooja shares, “Raj and I exchanged numbers and started to talk in November 2017. We kept in touch and in February 2018, we unofficially started to date. Both of us gradually fell in love as we continued to spend more time with each other. I would say the month of July 2018 was filled with magic and that’s when our love truly started to grow. It made me realize that something wonderful can emerge when you least expect it. You can meet somebody and just know in your heart and your soul that it’s a good match.”
First came love, and then it was time for an unforgettable proposal! Our jaws dropped when Pooja told us about the amazing proposal story. She recalls, “Yes, Raj proposed on a helicopter! There was a ‘Marry Me’ sign lit up in orange as soon as the helicopter was landing. It was magical!”
While romance comprises a lot of external actions like professed words and dramatic gestures, real love comes from deep understanding, mutual respect and a set of shared values and ideas. Pooja firmly believes that the love she and Raj share is truly one-of-a-kind. “We feel the world in each other’s arms and are most comfortable when we are with each other. We are emotionally connected, and that’s how we feel. However, Raj and I are very different from each other. We are ambitious when it comes to our careers and have a set of goals. What’s so great is that both of us support each other and are willing to evolve and make ourselves better for each other. Our love has grown in such a way that we are willing to adapt, and that’s great! Our relationship has such great balance! It’s like I cook and he cleans!” How did Pooja celebrate the extraordinary connection that she and Raj share? Pooja adds, “To find love as real as ours is a very special feeling which needs to be defined with a symbolic testament. Personalized Platinum Love Bands are perhaps the best way to do it. They kickstart the day with some coffee, where romance was brewing!
“Let’s get some work done”, says Pooja. Raj takes a seat around her and gets busy.
But Raj has a surprise planned for his ladylove and waits for the lunch hour…
It is lunchtime. Pooja says, “I’m always in the mood for pizza.”
Pizza’s here and they sip on their favorite beverages.
Raj, as planned, asks her to open the box which has a surprise for her…
Pooja opens up the box to a message that reads, “Will You Marry Me?”
Then, in a moment that resonates with all their memorable times, he goes down on one knee with a platinum love band and pops the question. “Will you Marry Me?”
Pooja: “Yes, a thousand times yes!”
They bite into another slice of cheesy goodness to celebrate their Platinum day of love!

As the couple lived their Platinum Day of Love, makeup artist BrideMeUp by Chanderlata flawlessly used her makeup expertise to keep them camera-ready through the day. Capturing their candid moments from behind the lens, Dev Purbiya Photography highlighted the unique bond shared by the two. And lastly, to tie the shoot together, Rasikalal Sankalchand Jewellers brought some of their stunning pieces crafted in platinum.
