With a raw silk unembellished skirt, Sheefa Gilani’s red bridal lehenga was unconventionally stunning

Celebrity stylist and blogger Sheefa Gilani recently tied the knot and set a new standard in bridal style with a series of unconventional yet understated wardrobe choices. With help from Shloka Khialani who lent her designing expertise, the bride’s red wedding lehenga stood out with its new-age design that also had a traditional nuance.
Describing the brief she received, Shloka says, “Sheefa’s brief was very straightforward. From the start itself, she had complete clarity on what she was looking for and let us know that she desired something that was understated, elegant, and versatile. Inspired by her personality, we created a lehenga that was not embellished. We also kept in mind that the ceremony was going to be an intimate one, and hence, opted to work with rich raw silk cloth in a gorgeous bright red shade with loads of cancan. Then to sign it off, we incorporated our label’s classic embellishment into a modest sheer blouse with two soft tulle dupattas. The end result was nothing short of amazing as Sheefa was the epitome of a modern-day, dreamy, unconventional bride with a hint of tradition.”
To complete her look, Sheefa chose a pair of silver kaleerein that contrasted delightfully with the ruby red hue of her lehenga. Expressing her exploratory spirit, she also went off the traditional path with her jewelry and chose statement pieces created out of cut gems and kundan work. Following a red and white color palette, her jewellery pieces included a bold maang tikka, nose piece, choker necklace, and earrings. Her makeup was simple, and included nude earthy tones, with her heavily kohled eyes being the center of focus.
