Rima and Tushar’s Pre-Wedding Shoot in the Enchanting Paris

Asking the woman you love to marry you in the romance capital of the world is the surest way to get a ‘yes’. Tushar totally knew this and while he’d already won Rima’s heart, he still whisked her off to Paris, that playground of lovers and romantics, to propose to her with a photographer capturing the moment.
How we Met
We met in New York. Tushar had just graduated in structural engineering at Texas Tech University and was working on the reconstruction project of Washington Square Park. I was Brand Manager at a consumer packaged goods company.
A mutual friend introduced us and honestly, I didn’t like Tushar one bit. It would be safe to say I hated him. He’s a shy guy and I mistook his bashfulness for arrogance. Still, we did fall in love eventually.
I moved back to Bangalore where I currently work in marketing and Tushar is based in Hyderabad and runs his own business.
The Proposal
We were both travelling to the US and Tushar mentioned that we had a quick stopover in Paris so we ought to make the most of the time we had on our hands and explore the city. Of course, what I thought was a spontaneous idea was actually a well-thought-through plan.
We visited The Louvre and just as we stepped in front of one of the world’s most renowned Parisian icons, he took out a solitaire ring from Tiffany & Co. and popped the question.
I however, had to know if my father had agreed to our marriage before I could answer for myself. As he was down on one knee, Tushar smiled and told me he’d already asked my dad for my hand. That’s when I said ‘Yes!’
The city of love was glittering with autumn showers and it started raining as he slipped the ring on my finger. The whole experience was surreal.
Pre-Wedding Shoot
Tushar had booked a French photographer to capture the proposal in Paris along with the photoshoot but everything else was impromptu. In fact, it is the candid quality of the pictures that we loved the most. We didn’t use any props and stuck to keeping the frames as natural as possible. The only elements we incorporated were the champagne with which we celebrated and some coffee and croissants that we ordered later at a cafe.
The beautiful city of Paris and our talented photographer spun all the magic around us, so all that was left for us to do was just be ourselves and enjoy our moment together. Although we didn’t want it all to end, we had to wrap up the exciting day because of the rains.
