Destination Weddings - Jul 2, 2014
The best part of our job is that we get to visit some of the most beautiful places in the world where couples plan their celebrations of love.Tomorrow, we are off to Cebu in Philippines, where Benita Mahtani and Rahul Chandiramani from London are tying the knot. The four-day celebrations will be held at the award-winning destination which is the new hot-spot for NRI weddings- Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa. The Mahtani-Chandiramani wedding is being managed by Cebu based Stanz Catalan and coordinated by Hong Kong based Rani Moriani. Select guests are flying in from all over the world, along with a host of Artists, Entertainers and Wedding Specialists from India and other places. They include Musicians like Paris House Addict, Manasi Scott, Raghav Sachar, DJ Kilogram and popular destination wedding photographers- Picture Perfect India.
Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu, Philippines
The 530 room Shangri-La Mactan Resort is now popular for big Indian weddings, but Cebu has always been a top wedding destination in Philippines. With its rich history and deep Catholic roots, Cebu abounds with churches, both old and new and boasts of many beaches and resorts perfect for beach or garden weddings. And while most Indian families may not find specialized talent for Indian weddings there, the Cebuanos are considered very talented and creative and one of the best wedding suppliers.
The Shangri-La property which opened in October 1993 is a short 20-minute drive to the Mactan Cebu International Airport. Set amidst 13 hectares of lush tropical greenery in Lapu-Lapu city, the resort offers beach-side luxe with its spacious guestrooms and suites, sumptuous wining and dining options, lively entertainment, and exciting sports and recreational activities. And while we are looking forward to the music, fun and celebrations in Cebu, we can’t wait to get some rest and rejuvenation at CHI, the spa which we hear is designed as a secluded village within the resort to offer treatments based on the traditional healing methods found in the Philippines and other parts of Asia.
Watch this space for more updates on our stay at Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa and the wedding story of the beautiful couple who met in London, got engaged in Dubai and who will now exchange vows in the tropical paradise.
