Shot in Goa, this boho styled wedding shoot exudes romantic vibes with its fresh blooms and earthy elements
Wedding Planning - Jan 20, 2021
Surrounded by the lush tranquil beauty of Goa and punctuated by the sounds of gently crashing waves, this boho styled wedding shoot raised the bar on style and romance with its stunning decor. Conceptualized by the very talented WeddingSutra Favorite – VLW Global who used their talents to make a boho dream come true, this styled shoot was a feast for the eyes with its meticulous attention to detail and of course, its sheer beauty.
Spurred by the onset of the global pandemic this shoot channeled the inner creativity of Shruti Tiwari of VLW Global which, in turn, led to a series of beautiful pictures. Sharing the reason why she decided to pursue this concept and the creative process behind it, Shruti shares, “With the global pandemic spreading its icy branches all around the world, the event industry, in particular, took a drastic hit. All of a sudden, we, who previously used to be on our toes 24/7 constantly shuttling between cities, were now unfortunately in lockdown mode. However, nothing could stop our creative juices from flowing! As creative thinkers, we needed to find an outlet to express our ideas, and driven by this need, we came up with the Boho Wedding Photo Series. Luckily for us, everything fell in place perfectly.
Bohemian weddings have always been different from the traditional Indian weddings that we are commonly used to seeing here. For this shoot, we wanted to ensure that everything hit the mark flawlessly with nature-inspired elements that exuded romance. Little details were given the utmost attention ensuring that each part of the decor was warm, inviting yet somehow, dreamy and stylish.”
Planned comprehensively over a cup of steaming coffee, this styled shoot was aces when it came to the smallest of details. Everything from the dress and makeup to the cake was chosen keeping the bohemian theme in mind. Shruti shares, “Since we were showcasing a boho bride, we ensured that we stuck to the concept with each of the three dresses. Simple cuts were favored over complicated ones to create a look that was effortless yet gorgeous at the same time. Furthermore, each dress had a different silhouette that stood out.
As for the makeup, a fresh route was taken with special emphasis being placed on keeping the bride’s skin dewy, fresh and non-fussy. For the hair, we chose carefree styles like messy buns, soft beach waves along with intricate pleats for the contemporary bride.”
However, the star of the show was the decor which included carefully selected elements like crocheted table cloths, transparent acrylic lanterns with delicate fairy lights sitting inside, pampas grass, long wooden tables, and vibrant fresh blooms. Shruti shares, “Since bohemian weddings are vastly inspired by nature, it was essential to include elements that complimented the same. We picked wildflowers, foliage, rustic boho rugs, lanterns, and rice lights to give the entire venue a romantic and dreamy vibe aptly in sync with our theme.”
Additionally, taking their affinity for detail to a whole new level, it was also ensured that the wedding cake played a significant part in the shoot by following a bohemian theme. Giving us an insight into this decision Shruti shares, “Unlike traditional wedding cakes, bohemian wedding cakes have a more organic look and feel. Made by the skilled pastry chef at Hilton Goa Resort, this cake was an absolute stunner and was a dream come true! Seated on a rustic wooden stand, the three-tier cake was stunningly beautiful as it was adorned with flowers, herbs, and leaves that went in perfect sync with the theme of the shoot.”
