Singapore – a Trending Destination for Pre-wedding Shoots
Pre Wedding Photoshoots - Apr 5, 2017
Your big day is on its way and all you want is a little break from the crazy shaadi shenanigans. So take the day off and indulge in a pre-wedding photoshoot. You’ll want gorgeous locales, easy access to spaces and a nice mix of the exotic and romantic. And that’s where the tropical paradise, Singapore comes in. It is probably the perfect pre-wedding shoot destination! Let the WeddingSutra Editors tell you why.
Couples and their candid photographers scramble to stand out from the crowd via unique themes and locations. Going overseas may seem like added logistics but the outcome is something you’ll cherish forever. (Also, you get a mini-vacay as a bonus!)
Singapore’s inimitably diverse cultures and architecture means you could shoot with a stunning post-modern backdrop – all clean lines and slick cityscapes or you could find rainforest magic and deep greens or even historic icons as piques to your album. The city is a photographer’s dream as it changes in character from day to night.
Rajesh Dembla, candid photographer of Camera Crew recently shot two pre-wedding shoots in Singapore and highly recommends it for its friendly locals, easy travel and all those locations. Here are Camera Crew’s recommendations along with our top 6 spots for a Singaporean pre-wedding shoot to remember.
Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay
This enclosed conservatory is a forest of illusion with its 35 metre tall mountain, covered in greenery and the world’s highest man-made waterfall indoors! The structure is temperature controlled and makes for some truly unique photos at different times of the day.
Recommendations: Try shooting in the early hours of the morning and if you’re lucky you’ll get a backdrop of mist around the waterfall.
Gardens by the Bay
The Super Trees tower at over 16 storeys high and there’s a breathtaking flower dome. Gardens by the Bay is an all time favorite for pre-wedding shoots. There’s an element of magic and fantasy and these will be part of your memories.
Recommendations: Spectacular by day or night, this space can be used at all times of day for a really great shoot.
Sentosa Island
The beaches beckon at Sentosa Island and this is where you get a chance to capture yourselves walking off, hand-in-hand into the sunset or sunrise! You could treat it as a picture postcard prelude to a beach wedding or honeymoon!
Recommendations: Shoot at Sentosa at sunset or early in the morning to achieve dreamy, romantic photos.
National Museum of Singapore
The cool, white structure of the National Museum Of Singapore is perfect if you love architecture. It’s striking exteriors contrast with minimalist interiors and you’ll find peace and a relaxed environment at the museum.
Recommendations: An elaborate pre-wedding shoot at the museum is chargeable, but make it quick and you could get 4-5 good shots for free.
The Botanic Garden
The Botanic Garden is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and so it is protected and beautiful. Within, you can pick from a series of gorgeous featured locations like the Halia Garden, White Bandstand, Swan Lake, Burkill Hall, A Curtain of Roots, Eco Garden, Evolution Garden and the National Orchid Garden. The botanic garden is perfect for whimsical photos.
Recommendations: Prior permissions will give you an added advantage. The White Bandstand at the Botanic Garden is highly recommended. Don’t miss shooting there.
Marina Bay Sands
Once you’re done shooting outdoors, head back to the Marina Bay Sands Hotel for a night or long weekend. Sit back, relax and review the results of your pre-wedding shoot. Need some more? You could take photographs here too!
Recommendations:
You can take some incredible photos at their famous rooftop infinity pool that stretches out into panoramic views of the city.
Found these photos dreamy enough? Book your tickets for a weekend in Singapore and expose yourself to the most environmentally friendly city for a pre-wedding shoot against a mix of classic, rustic, dreamy and quirky backdrops.
