Sonam and Dhiraj’s Platinum Day of Love
Love Actually, Precious Platinum - Apr 28, 2017
Our initiative Love Actually is a photo series that captures beautiful moments between couples in the most stunning locations across Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. Here, bride-to-be Sonam shares the story of her beautiful friendship and her ‘platinum’ love story with WeddingSutra.
Dhiraj’s aunt had already been telling his family about Sonam after she spotted her at a wedding in Hyderabad where Sonam lived. In another country, Dhiraj didn’t pay much heed at first, after all, “I was in Dubai and she was in Hyderabad.” It took a lot of goading from the parents on both sides and they finally agreed to get in touch.
Their connection was instant and after a month of unending phone calls, Dhiraj flew to meet the love of his life in person. He says, “It was an amazing feeling. There were no awkward silences; we knew that this was it. So after taking the blessings from our parents, we decided to tie the knot.”
Despite the fact that their wedding was already fixed, Dhiraj planned a romantic proposal, with a platinum love band in his hand and asked her to be his forever and always. “And the love bands were the perfect symbol to seal the bond of our rare relationship just like platinum.”
Dhiraj chose his moment. Sonam was visiting Dubai and he took her on a romantic cruise down the river with an alfresco dinner. It was his second choice of setting though, “I had initially thought of organizing a chopper ride but it didn’t materialize.” It worked out beautifully though and he says the smile on her face was all he wanted.
The love bugs also have the travel bug and had fallen in love with Sri Lanka already, “The peaceful, quaint atmosphere of Sri Lanka made for a perfect vacation destination for us to spend some time together.”
With the wedding just a month away, the duo is busy juggling plans and processes and the pre-wedding shoot at Thalassa in Khar was just the mini-break the couple needed.
Sonam elaborates, “Everything was just perfect; right from the Greek-inspired Thalassa restaurant to the super amazing photographer Hermit. Our make up by Shamita Gogia was superb, the clothes from Camessi and Nisha Sainani had us looking great!”
The bride to be also let us in on an open secret, “WeddingSutra has always been my ultimate resource for everything wedding related! And everything worked out brilliantly!”
We wish the lovely couple all the love, luck and a lifetime of happy memories together.
