Staying true to tradition with a modern flair, this couple’s garden wedding mandap featured a perfect balance of vivid hues and brass elements
Wedding Planning - Jun 6, 2024
With the rich canvas of Udaipur serving as a stunning backdrop, Ashita Parekh and Jeevandhar Mallapur’s three-day wedding in February was rooted in traditions. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Tamarind Global Weddings, the union emphasized sustainability while ensuring the guests were left pampered. Heading the design front was WeddingSutra Favorite – Design HQ who tapped into the couple’s shared perspectives to design events that made a positive impact environmentally and visually.
Team Tamarind Global gives us an overview of the hustle that went on behind the scenes and the couple’s vision, “Ashita and Jeevandhar are not only dedicated to sustainability and environmental consciousness but also embody a deep-rooted connection to their culture and religion. Their wedding planning process was not only meticulous but also filled with joy and excitement. Despite their attention to detail, they remained down-to-earth, grounded in their values and traditions. From selecting a sustainable venue like Raas Devigarh to ensuring all collaterals were made on recyclable paper, every decision reflected their commitment to both the environment and their heritage. Their wedding journey was not just about celebrating their love but also about honoring their beliefs and making a positive impact on the world around them.”
Starting the celebrations were the mehndi and welcome dinner. Rajasthani folk performers mesmerized the guests as they enjoyed refreshing drinks. The mehndi setup consisted of fuschia elements that popped against the earthy backdrop. Floral garlands were suspended from trees while the bride sat comfortably on her seat adorned with vivid blooms.
Yellow and greens dominated the color palette at the haldi. Marigolds, banana leaves and wooden furnishings basked under the sun at the poolside venue. Fresh coconut water kept the guests hydrated while live folk musicians made the ceremony lively.
Regal with a contemporary twist, the sangeet embodied glamor under the star-studded sky. An elegant color palette of ivory and green adorned the venue. A blue-pottery-inspired stage was a nod to the couple’s love for Rajasthan and its time-honored art forms.
The baraat kicked off on a peppy note with Jeevandhar shaking a leg with his groom squad. Regal parasols sheltered the guests as the groom and his party proceeded to the wedding venue. The wedding mandap was a colorful creation with a depiction of Lord Shreenathji in the backdrop to bless the union. Ashita walked hand in hand with her parents. White blooms, banana plants and a swastik canopy also adorned the mandap. For the reception, the couple stayed true to their love of tradition and glamor. Trees lit up by golden fairy lights and a delicious spread enchanted the guests.
