Surana Jewellers host lavish wedding in Jaipur
Celebrity News - Nov 7, 2011
If both the Ambani brothers and their wives are attending a wedding outside Mumbai, you can be sure about two things. One, the wedding will be most high profile affair and second, there will be media speculation on whether both the couples are staying in the same hotel. Last weekend, the Ambani brothers, their wives Tina and Nita Ambani and mother Kokilaben were in Jaipur to attend the wedding of Saloni Surana from the famed Surana Jewellers family. Saloni married Rishabh, son of Cyril Shroff, Managing Partner of Amarchand & Mangalas & Shroff, India’s prominent law firm.
The wedding was a traditional affair, at the historical Jaigarh Fort, Jaipur. The other functions included a Rajasthani evening where Ila Arun entertained the guests, the Sangeet at City Palace where popular band Aasma belted hits, an Elephant polo match and a late-night movie screening at a Multiplex. Reports state the Suranas and Shroffs chartered over 15 planes, and hired over 650 luxury cars to ferry the many VIP and international guests who included Kumaramangalam Birla, Manali and Dilip Vengsarker, Arvind Singh Mewar and politicos P. Chidambaram, Prafull Patel and Ashok Gehlot. The reception is in Mumbai tonight.
Surana Jewellers, an intrinsic part of Jaipur’s heritage, are known for their fine craftsmanship since centuries, creating exceptional pieces of jewellery, reminiscent of the royal era. While they only have one expansive store in Jaipur, occasionally they organise exclusive exhibitions to showcase their aesthetic fusion of the traditional and contemporary to high net worth clients in India and abroad.
