Swiss Paradise of St. Moritz to host Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta Pre-wedding Parties

The Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta pre-wedding celebrations are moving from the hazy and mild winter landscape of Mumbai to the pristine and snowy slopes of the resort town of St. Moritz in the Engadin valley of Switzerland.
Billionaire industrialist and chairman of the Reliance Industries Limited, Mr Mukesh Ambani, who is groom Akash Ambani’s father, is a frequent visitor to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, which lies just 77 km, or 90 minutes by road, from St. Moritz. Reports suggest that his fondness for the immaculate ski slopes and luxury properties of St. Moritz were a factor in deciding to host the couple’s pre-wedding celebrations, including Akash’s bachelor bash, there.
From February 23-25, St. Moritz will see around 300 guests, including Bollywood biggies like Karan Johar and Ranbir Kapoor, fly into the winter wonderland, whose highlight includes a beautiful lake, in the Alpine mountains to celebrate with Akash and Shloka.
Around 500 or so weddings vendors such as planners and decorators, chefs, photography and videography teams from the UK, St. Moritz, Zurich, Mumbai and New Delhi are also expected to be there to help orchestrate and capture the three-day festivities that have been conceptualized by ace Indian designer Manish Malhotra.
One of the initial pre-wedding functions – the traditional dandiya raas night – has already taken place at the iconic Ambani mansion Antilia in Mumbai where singer Falguni Pathak entertained the gathering with her foot-tapping numbers.

There will be foot action of another sort when guests will strap on skis and navigate their way down the smooth, award-worthy slopes of St. Moritz with the help of skiing experts. They will relax from their sporting endeavors in luxury properties such as Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel and the Grand Hotel Des Bains Kempinski St.Moritz which are said to have been booked out for the glitzy festivities.

St. Moritz is a popular playground for rich, international jetsetters from Europe and around the world. It has hosted the Olympic Winter Games twice and homes there are said to be some of the most expensive in the world.
Everyone is curious to see who will wear what as the icy environs of St. Moritz in February do not lend itself to flouncy lehengas or brocade achkans. With style stalwarts like fashion-loving Karan Johar at St. Moritz, we can’t wait to see who is whizzing up and down the style stakes as they celebrate with Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta.
