Taking a cue from Jaipur’s pink hues and vibrant Sicilian markets, this couple’s pre-wedding celebrations were immersive

Shreena and Bonny Patel’s wedding was designed as a series of distinct yet connected experiences, each one shaped by the bride’s personal aesthetic and sensibility. The celebrations moved between bold, experimental settings and softer, more traditional environments, creating a well-balanced narrative across events. This vision was executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – SoulScapes, who translated Shreena’s ideas into immersive, detail-driven spaces.

The brunch, titled ‘SB’s Rodeo Runway’, set the tone with a high-energy, maximalist concept. Drawing from western rodeo elements and reworking them with a contemporary edge, the space combined raw textures with unexpected accents. Haystacks doubled up as coffee tables layered with sequins and playful props, while cacti and metallic finishes added structure to the setting. Details were intentionally unconventional, glittered cowboy boots replaced traditional vases, papayas were used as floral holders, and disco balls were suspended above earthy elements. The entry, marked as the “No Nazar Please!” lounge, introduced guests to the tone of the event with a playful, styled setup. Pink sequined seating, iridescent tables, and a mirrored bull installation anchored the space, giving it a strong visual identity. As Aastha Maheshwari from SoulScapes notes, “We wanted it to feel like a playground of contrasts, where every corner sparked curiosity and joy.”

The Gruh Shanti shifted into a more restrained and traditional design language. Inspired by Jaipur, Gulabo focused on soft colours, craft-led details, and a calm, cohesive layout. Custom jali panels structured the space, layered with floral vines and parrot motifs that referenced themes of celebration and new beginnings. Textiles played an important role, from scalloped silk drapes with gold edging to block-printed upholstery that added depth without overwhelming the setting. Overhead, lotus buds and mogra strings created a subtle focal point, while a custom parrot-print flooring tied the design together. Brass elements and handcrafted décor completed the look, keeping the overall aesthetic rooted yet contemporary. Aastha shares, “Here, the design was meant to feel quieter, allowing tradition and emotion to take centre stage.”

For the mehendi, the design moved into a vibrant, Mediterranean-inspired setting. Sicily in Bloom drew from the visual language of southern Italian markets, combining colour, texture, and structure to create an immersive environment. Fabric drapes framed the space, while tables were styled with lemons, tomatoes, and other produce to reinforce the theme. Laser-cut partitions with grapevine and fruit motifs added depth and helped define different zones within the venue. Hand-painted tile backdrops introduced pattern and cultural reference, while warm lighting and chandeliers softened the space as the evening progressed. Overhead installations with greens and hanging produce added dimension, and lounge areas with printed upholstery ensured comfort without breaking the visual continuity. “We wanted guests to feel transported, as though they had stepped into a setting that was both lively and familiar,” Aastha explains.
