Thailand Hotspots: Kalki Koechlin celebrates her birthday at honeymoon paradise Soneva Kiri in Koh Kood

Kalki Koechlin was seen shooting for a travel magazine at Soneva Kiri, a very exclusive and luxurious resort in eastern Thailand, offering just twenty-four large resort villas and eleven private residences – all built of sustainable local materials, with stunning infinity pools, impossibly chic furnishings, personal electric buggies and impeccable service.
While at the resort, Kalki undertook several of Sonva Kiri’s signature barefoot luxe, romantic experiences such as living in a beach-front pool villa suite, lounging about the infinity- edged swimming pool attached to her suite, tripod dining high above the rainforest and dancing waves (the waiter brings in the order via zipline), watching romantic movies at the open-air theatre ‘Cinema Paradiso’ and stargazing at The Observatory with its state-of-the-art.
She also dug into authentic Thai gourmet cuisine at farm-to-table eatery The Benz. The resort has star quotient of its own: It was started and is owned by by Sonu Shivdasani and his wife Eva Malmstrom Shivdasani. Their goal was to bring to life a dreamy eco-paradise that focused on all things organic, inspiring and fun.
And the resort made sure Kalki had a truly special birthday. Creating one-in-a-million memories is daily business for the staff that bring Soneva Kiri’s dreamy thrills to life apparently, and executive chef, Kevin Fawkes, made it his personal duty to ensure she had a memorable birthday. He and his team whipped up a scrumptious culinary extravaganza fit for a princess (but organic nonetheless!) and paired it with delectable selection of wines.
