Determined in the face of challenging weather conditions, Ravina Rajdev and Rohit Lakhani saw their wedding come to life just like they’d envisioned it. Krunali Gokani and Danveer Kaur Birdi from The Wedding Corp give us a detailed overview of the Jaimala ceremony and the symbolic meaning behind each element, “The wedding was hosted in May in Udaipur. The bride, Ravina, had a distinct vision for her bridal entry. There were to be three entries within her grand bridal entry to reflect the most important aspects of her life. And, as we understood her brief, we realised the emotional weight of our responsibility. Consequently, we strived for perfection despite the weather being chaotic!”

The bridal entry consisted of three phases where Ravina expressed herself and her priorities in an artistic symbolic manner. Krunali and Dhanveer explain, “Weddings are a canvas where couples can showcase themselves freely. Ravina used this opportunity to express her love for her parents and herself. The first was ‘The Veil Walk’ – The bride entered with a dramatic veil symbolizing her journey from a sheltered upbringing to stepping into a new chapter of life. Next, it was her parents’ turn as they joined her emphasizing the importance of family. Her siblings also joined in as they walked the aisle with her under the phoolon ki chaadar. The ‘Solo Walk’ was Ravina’s show of independence and strength.”

The bride’s memorable walk down the aisle culminated in an elegant Jaimala ceremony hosted by the pool surrounded by beautiful floral decor. Minimalistic with a dash of glam, this ceremony used ambient lighting and moderate fireworks to strike a balance between contemporary elegance and tradition.
