Giving us an overview of the brief they received from the couple, Yachana Mehta and Sarthak Gupta from The Design Atelier Weddings share, “A couple having a clear vision for their wedding planning can transform their special day into a seamless, memorable event that reflects their unique personalities and shared dreams. Such was the case with celebrity couple Kriti Kharbanda and Pulkit Samrat. The location was instrumental in their vision, which as a key element in the wedding vision could set up the foundation of the wedding theme. Two key factors in choosing the theme were ‘Simplicity’ and ‘Authenticity’.
A core aesthetic wasn’t followed. Instead, they specified how they wanted each event to convey a story – from the basic Phool Mandi setup for their Haldi ceremony to the Garage Vibes for their after-party. The Haldi function was a setup of a Phool Mandi or a flower market followed by a Bollywood-style sangeet. The wedding day’s decor was incorporated with the elements of the venue itself. The decor portrayed an unadulterated expression of the couple’s love for each other and their families.”

Mehndi
Yachana shares, “The mehndi event was a grounded celebration which won hearts with its simplicity. It flaunted floral decor embracing delicacy and simplicity echoing Kriti’s personal style.”

Haldi
Sarthak shares, “The Haldi ceremony unfolded in a lively, vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of bustling Indian marketplaces like floral mandis and chaat galis. Laughter danced through the air, weaving a tapestry of joy among friends and family.”

Sangeet
“Sangeet was the very soul of Bollywood for our Celebrity Couple. We delved deep into the realm of Bollywood’s opulence and allure. Embracing the vibrant energies, it was a night of shimmering glamour and enchantment”, says Yachana.

Wedding and After Party
“The heart of the wedding resonated with the 3 S’s – Simplicity, Serenity, and Stateliness. Majestically elevated a few feet, nestled against the grand façade of The Grand Bharat, stood the wedding mandap adorned with the gentle hues and textures of blossoms. The pheras were followed by the first dance of the couple and it unfolded like a scene from a Hollywood production. For the after-party, the venue was transformed into a gritty, urban wonderland, complete with dim lighting and graffiti-covered walls. It was a playground for all to bring out the inner child in them – filled with slides, games, and photobooths”, share, Yachana and Sarthak.

However, designing a wedding is not without its challenges and for the team at The Design Atelier Weddings perfection was absolutely essential! Yachana and Sarthak share, “From the booking date to the date of execution, it was a journey of many ups and downs.
The primary element which had to stand out aloud was the wedding mandap setup straight out of an AI vision, which had never been executed before. The glass-cut mandap setup, hand-painted with a dome and artistic cuts had to be executed within the deadline. Sampling the cuts and the colour palettes was a lengthy process. A timeline of two and a half months was being offered by the vendor when we were just twenty days away from the wedding!
Enrolling kaarigars from Jaipur, we somehow managed to bring this mandap to life out of the couple’s vision. The challenge was not only to design it but also at the same time to make it stand out by providing reinforcements to endure its weight.”
