This couple chose their favorite five-star date night hotspot to host their lockdown wedding

After a decade of togetherness, Rachita and Virat were all set to tie the knot at their dreamy destination wedding when the Covid-19 pandemic struck. However, they decided they were not going to it wreck their plans completely.
With just two weeks of planning and a guest list of 46 people, they hosted a charming city wedding whose beautiful moments were captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Isrrani Photography. The couple shared their story with us.
Together since their college days, Virat and Rachita first met through a mutual friend.
A casual conversation on Facebook led to a friendship, and then a deeper relationship over time. Rachita’s impulsive nature was balanced by Virat’s composure, and their loving temperaments made them ideal for each other.
Even though the couple was looking at having a destination wedding, their small intimate wedding ended up being equally memorable. “When the lockdown unfolded, our families, who live close by, often came together to have dinner, during which one day the wedding planning discussion arose. We all agreed that we did not want to wait any longer for a big wedding, as the celebration of our love was what was important to us. Right then and there, we decided to get married in two weeks! As they say, ‘Jab Miyan Biwi Raazi Toh Kya Karega Kazi?’ (When the bride and groom are willing to marry, what can a priest really do?).”
Planned by the groom’s wedding planning company, Meraki Luxury Events, the wedding was hosted at Sofitel Mumbai BKC. “The Kuran restaurant at Sofitel has always been close to our hearts. Home to one of our favorite date night spots in the city, we couldn’t have picked a more special place for our wedding.”
With elegant, minimal decor comprising fresh blooms and twinkling fairy lights to enhance the hotel’s beautiful spaces, the cozy wedding was a dreamy affair. Designed by the bride’s own label, the rich magenta and gold wedding lehenga looked stunning. Rachita paired it with statement polki jewellery, a sleek bun and dewy makeup. Virat looked regal in a white sherwani which he paired with a pink turban and stole to match Rachita’s lehenga.
As Virat and Rachita’s wedding was their first one since the lockdown, Sofitel Mumbai BKC took stringent measures to ensure health and safety of the guest as well as their staff. Complete sanitization processes were followed before and during the wedding. All the guests were notified of do’s and don’ts in advance and everyone respected and followed the guidelines.
