This couple swapped their grand wedding plans for a simple court wedding ceremony

Sonalee and Vishal first met at a friend’s place two years ago and they instantly hit it off as friends. As one meeting led to another, the duo realized the chemistry between them, post which, it didn’t take long for them to fall headlong into love. With plans of a grand marriage on the cards, they started the hectic process of planning a wedding but unfortunately, fate had other plans as the COVID-19 pandemic slowly began to spread its branches globally. However, adamant to tie the knot despite uncertainty looming on the horizon, the couple defied odds and settled on a simple and cheerful court marriage which was captured in stunning frames by WeddingSutra Favorite – Knotty Affair by Namit & Vipul.
When quizzed about their thought process behind taking this bold step, the couple shares, “We had originally planned a full-fledged traditional wedding for the end of this year but then as the current situation unfolded, we knew that we had to change our plans. And, once the uncertainty started growing after the lockdown both of us and our families decided that a court marriage would be the best route to take.”
The couple goes on to share their lockdown court marriage ceremony in a more in-depth manner, “There were many restrictions in place but it was still an extraordinary experience. Unfortunately, most of our family and friends stay out of Mumbai, hence they couldn’t be there for the wedding but we did invite the friends who were present in the city, who were less than ten in number, and we had a great time celebrating with them in an intimate setting.
For us, personally, it was an almost unbelievable day as we’ve never previously witnessed or even heard of a marriage take place like this. However, looking back, we’re filled with pride as we did manage to pull it all off seamlessly that too on a small budget. Our respective families also pitched in and helped us out as they ordered our outfits online while we took care of stepping out to shop for a few other essential elements for the ceremony. On the photography front, we placed our trust in the Knotty Affair by Namit & Vipul team who were incredibly easy to work with. They traveled a long distance in order to take our pictures and we must say that each and every one of those shots is absolutely expressive and beautiful. They delivered exactly what was promised and we would gladly work with them again in the future.”
