Wedding Planning - Apr 20, 2023
Dr Likhita Kocharekar and Yaduraj Yadav first met at a cafe and as fate would have it, seven years down the line, the couple took their seven vows at the same place they first met! Vibrant, close-knit and brimming with adorable moments, the couple’s wedding celebrations were nothing short of spectacular.
Murthmedh
The couple kicked off their wedding festivities with a traditional pooja function known as Murthmedh which signifies the commencement of the wedding ceremonies. Hosted at the bride’s and groom’s houses respectively, it was a simple occasion where the couple was surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Mehendi
Contrasting beautifully with the lush green surroundings, the mehndi flaunted colourful and quirky decor. Adorned with vibrant hues of orange, fuschia along with larger-than-life flamingos, the decor put everyone in the mood to celebrate!
Haldi
Decorated with marigolds, the haldi was an afternoon event. After the rituals were performed the couple was smeared with turmeric paste by their friends and family members amidst music and cheer. The bride looked radiant in a bottle green saree paired with an antique gold choker and an antique gold long necklace while the groom donned a pink sherwani and a turban.
Cocktail
The following evening transitioned into a glitzy starry night with a disco ball-themed cocktail party. The bride dazzled in a modern, shimmery mauve couture gown. The intricate beading of her ensemble was delicately accentuated by a diamond necklace and earrings. The glamorous yet dreamy event made everyone put their dancing shoes on to show off their best moves and everyone partied hard till the wee hours of the morning.
Wedding
Filled with grandeur, the evening wedding was hosted under the stars at an open-air mandap. As the couple exchanged garlands, they were showered with rose petals. Likhita looked stunning in a crimson red lehenga which she paired with a polki, emerald and ruby encrusted necklace and choker along with a statement maang tikka while Yaduraj wore a stylish black sherwani.
