This couple’s ‘Sunday Drunch’ engagement celebrations featured muted tones, subdued glamour and a highly customized bar!

Krisha Bapna and Dhruv Parekh’s engagement ceremony in Mumbai was fresh and elegant. Keen to take an unconventional route, the duo chose to host their engagement during the day and used pastel hues generously to reflect the dazzling Mumbai sun. WeddingSutra Favourite – Niché Events orchestrated this celebration, translating the couple’s story, personal style and vision into a cherished event.
Bride Krisha shares, “Instead of a typical night engagement we chose to have a ‘Sunday Drunch’ celebration. Everything was envisioned to be fresh, fuss-free and wholesome – just like the start of our love story. We designed every part of this event keeping this very thought in mind. Even our parents were on board to have a super fun event mixed with some of the traditional Gujarati ceremonies. While the event had more than 500 guests in attendance, we wanted to maintain a personal touch at every stage. We wanted our guests to feel the love, indulge to their heart’s content and dance till their feet gave up. ”
Every detail was meticulously curated echoing the duo’s love for minimalism. Krisha shares, “From the very beginning we have loved everything dreamy and elegant. ‘Minimal Magic’ were the keywords we used while briefing our team and we also wanted to incorporate small personal touches throughout the design. The photo-op at the entry had the guests clicking selfies and the walkway was adorned with chandeliers. And, once the guests moved inside they were greeted by hues of green, ivory, white, silver and gold. As gorgeous as the decor was, the bar was equally beautiful and personalized. The entire bar setup was customized. The team used our invitation designs as an inspiration to craft customized coasters, menus and stickers. Stirrers also sported our wedding hashtag! A top favourite was the Chocolate Espresso Martini and the ‘Bubbly Bar’ with a variety of Champagne-based drinks!”
Spearheading the event planning was Niché Events who impressed the couple with their proactive attitude and understanding. Krisha shares, “Niché Events was pivotal in making this celebration a success. They possess the perfect balance of planning, management and creativity. They unhesitantly pushed the design team to stay true to our vision. Right from brainstorming ideas, and understanding our style to minor customisations – the team was on their toes at all times.”
