This couple’s union redefined Bikaner’s wedding landscape with its astonishing scale and grandeur!

Aakansha and Partha’s wedding in Bikaner was a historic celebration that blended grandeur, tradition, and innovation in equal measure. With over 700 guests flying in from across India and overseas, the city’s timeless palaces and havelis became the canvas for a multi-day extravaganza. The bride’s family, rooted in Bikaner through their legacy brand Bikaner Jewels, now lives between Jaipur and Mumbai, while the groom’s family—owners of Vega Helmets—came down from Belgaum. Friends and relatives arrived from across Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, and beyond, joined by international guests from Spain, Switzerland, London, Africa, and the US, giving the wedding a global yet deeply personal character.

The sheer scale of the celebration transformed Bikaner, a city with no single hotel larger than 80 rooms. Guests were spread across twelve properties while hospitality, logistics, and transport were seamlessly orchestrated to ensure the experience felt unified. As Priyanshi Somaiya and Anubhav Jain of Dark Horse Events share, “We built an execution model where every guest felt at ease, without ever sensing the complexity running in the background.”

What also made this wedding remarkable was its workforce with over 600 professionals, from decor teams and chefs to waitstaff and management, working in sync to bring the vision alive. For the planning team, however, the challenge wasn’t just logistical. Bikaner’s wedding industry has long been bound by a monopoly where one vendor controlled every major service. This time, the families made a bold decision to break away. Dark Horse Events handled not just decor and management, but also catering – a significant leap for the team. “We wanted to create opportunities for local vendors and showcase collaboration over control. Limited local infrastructure meant supply chains had to be built from Jaipur and Jodhpur, while custom setups were created from scratch across multiple venues. Yet, the outcome was a seamless spectacle that blended scale with soul,” say Priyanshi and Anubhav. In doing so, the wedding didn’t just set new benchmarks for scale, but also shifted the ecosystem of how weddings are imagined in the city.

The duo adds, “To pull off this mammoth event, we deployed the largest management force Bikaner has ever seen – 120+ core management team members overseeing everything from check-ins to ceremony coordination; 150+ decor professionals, including florists, light & sound vendors, fabricators, riggers, and labor teams; 100+ kitchen staff handling a highly curated multi-cuisine menu; 250+ waitstaff managing service across multiple venues simultaneously.”

Wedding Functions
Welcome and Cocktail
The festivities began with a personalised welcome at the railway station and airport, where traditional music, hospitality kits, and warm smiles set the tone. Guests then joined an intimate family mehendi and lunch that carried an air of ease and closeness.

As the desert sun set, the scene shifted dramatically to the dunes, 25 km from the city. Here, an open-air cocktail night unfolded under starlit skies, where the rugged Rajasthani terrain became a breathtaking backdrop for an evening of elegance, music, and revelry.

Haldi and Sangeet
The haldi blended vibrancy with emotion, as guests enjoyed a colorful mehendi function and haldi rituals alongside a curated lunch that celebrated both regional and global cuisines. By nightfall, the sangeet had transformed into a high-octane celebration of music, dance, and familial love, ending with an after-party that kept spirits soaring until dawn.

Mayra
Tradition was at the heart of this day. With two Mayras hosted simultaneously, at Narendra Bhavan and Laxmi Niwas Palace for the groom and bride respectively, each reflected the distinct cultural flavors of the families. Later, an ‘Entertainment Night’ brought everyone together for live performances, culminating in another exuberant after-party that blurred the lines between tradition and modern celebration.
