Wedding Planning - Nov 12, 2025
Rashmi Shankar and Shashwat’s wedding was a deeply personal celebration that beautifully blended tradition, music, and cinematic charm. The festivities reflected the union of two vibrant cultures, North Indian heritage and Mumbai’s artistic soul. The bride, Rashmi, hails from a family steeped in musical legacy, being the daughter of acclaimed Tabla Maestro Shri Jeetu Shankar and celebrated vocalist Shri Santosh Shankar. Bringing her vision to life with thoughtful precision and elegance was WeddingSutra Favorite – Janvi Dave Weddings and Events, who curated each element with creative finesse and detail.

The groom, Shashwat, arrived with his family and was welcomed with warmth and grandeur. Rashmi, who works with a leading film production house in Mumbai, met Shashwat during her time there, and their shared journey culminated in a celebration surrounded by prominent personalities from the music and television industry, friends and well-wishers of both families.

From the outset, Rashmi dreamed of a wedding that felt elegant, soulful, and memorable — even though she didn’t come in with a fixed aesthetic or defined décor brief. Janvi Dave shares, “Rashmi gave us complete trust and creative freedom. She didn’t have specific ideas in mind, but she was open-hearted and enthusiastic about every concept we proposed. That trust allowed us to curate an experience that was beautifully personal to her and her family.”
The wedding décor exuded regal opulence with a contemporary flair. A rich red and gold palette anchored the aesthetic, layered with lush floral arrangements, glimmering chandeliers, and intricately carved structures that framed the rituals in timeless elegance. Rashmi’s entry was especially moving beneath a phoolon ki chaadar adorned with hanging red roses and mogra.

The Sangeet evening unfolded as a high-energy celebration of love and family. Rashmi and Shashwat made a grand entry led by her brothers to the beats of the dhol, setting the tone for a night filled with joy, music, and emotion.

The varmala ceremony stood out as an emotional experience. Rashmi’s brother, Piyush Shankar, composed a special song for the occasion—a heartfelt tribute to their bond that echoed through the venue as she approached Shashwat. The couple exchanged garlands against a floral backdrop of pastel blooms. Adding a joyful twist, the couple made their grand entry to the beats of dhol, led by Rashmi’s four brothers—a playful, high-energy moment that perfectly captured the festive spirit of the evening.

Janvi adds, “Every element of the celebration was curated with care. Guests were welcomed with thoughtful hampers, each featuring handwritten notes and custom bags. Signature flower boxes were designed for the pheras, and wedding stationery was tailored to complement Rashmi’s aesthetic—refined, graceful, and heartfelt.”
