This fusion lockdown wedding witnessed the groom surprising his bride with the most paw-some wedding gift ever!
Wedding Photography & Films, Wedding Planning - Sep 4, 2020
Prarthana and Ruchir had spent months planning out their dream wedding but with the COVID-19 pandemic enforcing a lockdown across the country, the duo had to abruptly change their plans. However, keeping a positive attitude and determined to tie the knot, they chose to transform their sangeet venue into a breathtaking wedding venue to host a ceremony replete with cheer while the groom made sure to surprise his bride with the most adorable wedding gift ever. Photographed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Amit Sood Photography who used their superior skills to capture every emotion, this wedding was a feast for the eyes, brimming with adorable moments.
The duo first met each other while pursuing a master’s course together in Mangalore where they both felt an instant liking towards each other. It was only after four years of dating Prarthana, when Ruchir decided to start a new chapter in their lives. About their process of planning a unique wedding amidst the lockdown, the couple shared, “We transformed our sangeet venue, i.e., The Amaltas Farms into our wedding venue and made our sangeet a home-based event keeping the COVID- 19 pandemic in mind. On the planning front, we wanted to ensure that everything looked beautiful despite a very limited guest list, and we made sure to follow all the precautions and protocols. Hence, the other guests, family, and friends who couldn’t make it joined us via Zoom.
On the decor front, we chose to have the vedi placed at the poolside which gave our phere a stunning sunset backdrop. Additionally, we also added sparkling fireworks into the mix that added a tinge of glamour to the ceremony! For the sangeet at home, we had Punjabi and Garhwali folk songs playing throughout the ceremony that prompted everyone to come and show off their best moves on the dance floor.
Also, photography was an important part of the nuptials for both of us and we relied completely on team Amit Sood Photography whom we shared a brilliant rapport with from the first meeting itself. Their exquisite work had already assured us that we were making the right decision, but then the results further reaffirmed it! The entire team was incredibly flexible and made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera.”
For the sangeet, Prarthana chose to don a rust-colored lehenga while Ruchir, on the other hand, wore a navy blue bandhgala and breeches. A fun-filled affair, the sangeet saw limited guests in attendance. The wedding, however, witnessed the couple amp up the glamour stakes as Prarthana slipped into a stunning merlot hued kanjivaram saree which honored her South Indian roots and accessorized her look with a statement gold tehri nath which paid homage to her Garhwali side. The groom chose an ivory colored sherwani for the occasion and paired it with a maroon pagdi accessorized with an ornate kalgi to complement his bride. And, rounding it all off with a dollop of cuteness was an adorable puppy named ‘Mischief’ that the groom gifted his bride on the wedding day!
Offering their advice to couples who’re looking to tie the knot, the duo simply states, “Make enjoyment your top priority. Don’t fuss too much on what looks right. Instead, concentrate on maximizing your joy!”
