This picturesque sunset proposal in the Maldives was straight out of a dream

From being best friends to soulmates, Ruhi and Manmath’s journey was full of adventure, new experiences and beautiful soul-stirring sunsets. In a fitting tribute to their story, Manmath marked the most significant moment of their lives with a mesmerizing sunset proposal at Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Maldives. Here are a few glimpses of their story.
How they met
Despite having lived in Bangalore all their lives, Ruhi and Manmath first crossed paths while at University in Singapore. The instantaneous connection and warm friendship they shared, soon transformed into being each other’s constant confidants. Long conversations, discovering new things together coupled with countless adventures! For the three years they spent in Singapore, there wasn’t a day they spent apart, and before they knew it they were in love!
The Proposal
Ruhi shares, “I haven’t had the chance to get many surprises in life, as I generally always uncover them sooner or later, and the fact that Manmath managed to plan and pull off the most special surprise of my life is an incredible feeling! After the year all of us have had, it was bliss in itself to plan a holiday getaway to the Maldives. Little did I know what was in store for me!”
For their trip to the dreamy Island nation, the couple stayed at the beautiful Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, exploring the mesmerizing location and culture, scuba diving, romantic dinners, magical sunsets and so much more. “Over the seven years that we have been together, Manmath has awoken in me an inordinate fascination for sunsets. I have never seen a sunset I did not love, and witnessing them together is something that truly connects us at a spiritual level, so it was only fitting that he planned to pop the question at sunset.”
“On day 3, he planned an unforgettable boat ride that took us to a solitary island surround by nothing but pristine blue water. As we sat there watching the sun go down, he told me he was going to set up the camera to record the beautiful sight that we were witnessing. He called out, and I turned around to see him on his knee holding out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen! In that moment he took my breath away, and as I accepted the ring from the love of my life, all I could think of was how much love, adventure and happiness he had brought into my life, and I cannot wait for this new chapter of our lives to begin!
