This vibrant brunch decor by The A Cube Project recreated famous artist Van Gogh’s sunflower painting.
Wedding Planning - Mar 2, 2021
For Ram and Prethee’s welcome brunch at Gratitude Heritage Pondicherry, WeddingSutra Favorite – The A-Cube Project raised the bar with their creative interpretation of Vincent Van Gogh’s artistic style and famous works. The breathtaking details of the day were captured in flawless shots by WeddingSutra Favorite – Ombre by Harsheen Jammu.
Driven by the bride’s fascination with the Dutch artist’s Sunflower paintings, the intimate soiree was designed, decorated, styled, planned and managed by Ambika Gupta of The A-Cube Project. A base palette of sunny yellow hues ruled the décor, while pops of lavender and white add a cheery allure. The walls of the courtyard venue were decked with flowers from top to bottom, blending with the canopy of tropical greens to create a warm, cozy ambience, perfect for the celebration with close friends. A gallery of Van Gogh’s artwork with printed descriptions ushered in the guests, where earthy sofas and other seating arrangements were set up. Elements of straw added a lovely barnyard feeling to the day, complementing the profusion of flowers. Installations of metal swirls decked with giant sunflowers were a nod to the artist’s signature brush-strokes that defined his painting style. A drawing outlining a Van Gogh painting complete with acrylic paints and brushes was set up as a fun activity corner for the guests.
The décor included a wedding favor station with charming personalized favors conceptualized and designed by the creative bride herself, flanked by a sign that said ‘Painted with love just for you’. Miniature canvases handmade by the ‘The Earthy Studio’ were gifted to the guests, along with jute bags by Purkal Stree Shakti that depicted Van Gogh’s starry night painting. This unique tribute to the Dutch artist was met with so much adoration, it got International acclaim and was even recognized by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Ambika Gupta shares, “It feels incredible to know that we are the only wedding company in the world to have been lauded by the Van Gogh Museum, and this wedding was the first of its kind to be recognised by them as well”.
The couple also harbored a strong desire to host a celebration that was not just beautiful, but also mindful of the community and the environment. To fulfill their charitable dream, The A- Cube Project got the organizations of India Wasted and Robin Hood Army on board to manage the floral and food waste and channel them to the right sources.
