This Victorian-themed engagement with crystal chandeliers and rich hues exuded regal vibes

Finding its roots in the school halls, Aarti Gupta and Dhruv Goel’s love story sounds straight out of a storybook as destiny with its constant interventions brought these two kindred souls together. And as the duo made the fateful decision of tying the knot, they turned to WeddingSutra Favorite – Evolve Weddings who with their superior expertise and creativity left no stone unturned to bring the duo’s vision to life.
Describing how they first crossed paths, Aarti recollects, “I have known him since we were kids as we were in the same school. Not only him, but I’ve also known his family for a long time too since his siblings and cousins were also in my school. So safe to say, we would cross paths a lot at school and social gatherings as one of his sisters were in my batch!” She goes on to share, “Since he was my senior in school, he was also the sports captain, so we’d interact at school events. In fact, I even remember him punishing me once as I was late to school! I did have this huge crush on him, though. But I never quite worked up the courage to confess my feelings.
However, little did I know that when it came to Dhruv, fate had something bigger planned for us and, eventually, he would be with me forever. Today, as we gear up to be life partners, my 15-year-old self is jumping with joy!”
Fast forward to a couple of years later, Dhruv flew to England immediately after school to pursue higher studies and I moved on to the same place later to pursue my own academic and career goals. And those five to six years, we were completely out of touch. However, after my studies were done I flew back to India, and Dhruv, of course, had made his way back earlier since he was older than me. This was the time when COVID-19 started and since both our families were close, they played cupid for us and our paths crossed again! The sparks between us rekindled and something just clicked in between us as we reconnected over fond memories.”
Giving us a brief overview of the breathtaking engagement event and the creative process behind it, Aarti shares, “The theme of the function was ‘regal victorian’ as both Dhruv and I love that style. We also ardently love London as our second home and are constantly awed by the elegance it exudes, so for us, this theme was an obvious choice. Our vision was to create the typical royal British ambiance where everything was plush but nothing was over-the-top. Right from the dark yet vibrant scarlet-hued flowers, gold-hued elements to the crystal chandeliers, everything was in line with the theme we’d decided on. Keeping the theme in mind, we also chose outfits that were perfectly in sync with the decor.
Furthermore, both of us were constantly involved with all of our vendors and regularly kept in touch with each one of them be it the decorator, logo, or invitation designer. It was very heartening to see the enthusiasm of each vendor as we fleshed out all the little details to add little elements of personalization across the event.”
Helmed by Evolve Weddings, who planned & decorated and executed the event effortlessly. Gushing about her experience with the Evolve Weddings team, Aarti happily shares, “Everyone was so impressed with the event! In fact, most of them even commented that Dhruv and I looked like royalty as we exchanged rings amidst the splendor. I’ve always had aspirations as a girl on what every function of my wedding should look like and I must say that Evolve Weddings understood my needs from the very start itself. Working with them was an amazing experience as they were meticulous about the smallest details and made the extra effort of personalizing almost everything. They were finely tuned to our tastes and understood what exactly Dhruv and I wanted to express with this function. The event, all thanks to Evolve Weddings, was the perfect depiction of what the both of us are together.”
Driven by her experience, Aarti goes on to share a few words of advice, “Don’t let your wedding celebrations get bigger than your marriage. However, make sure that your celebrations express who you both are as individuals. Take care of the small details and attend every meeting, if possible, to ensure that your celebration is personalized. Dhruv and I teamed up and often went out of our way to make sure that everything in the engagement resonated with our tastes. Also, get the right vendors on board who’ll guide you through the maze of tasks.”
