Post COVID, with everyone transitioning to OTT platforms for their daily dose of entertainment, we have been treated to an abundance of stylish men in the industry owning their space on Netflix, Amazon Prime and ZEE5. From Arjun Mathur (Karan) of Made in Heaven sporting effortless muted kurtas to Ishaan Khatter (Maan) of A Suitable Boy taking us all back in time with his classic outfits, these men will make you want to stock up your ethnic wear collection for intimate weddings. Their aesthetic sense of style is what caught our eye, and here are our top picks.
Maan – A Suitable Boy (played by Ishaan Khatter)
Maan’s choice of earthy linen and silk kurtas and bandis took us all back in time as we binge-watched Mira Nair’s ‘A Suitable Boy’ series on Netflix based on Vikram Seth’s 1993 novel.
Karan – Made in Heaven (played by Arjun Mathur)
We are totally crushing heavy over Karan’s muted kurtas that he wore while playing the role of a millennial wedding planner in Amazon Prime’s Made in Heaven series.
Dhruv Vats – Little Things (played by Dhruv Sehgal)
This boy next door will give you intimate wedding outfit goals. His pastel kurta and bandi that he wore at his friend’s wedding in Goa in Netflix’s ‘Little Things’ is a perfect summer pick for grooms as well as groomsmen.
Munna Tripathi – Mirzapur (played by Divyendu Sharma)
The badass brat Munna Bhaiyya slayed his looks in the action crime thriller ‘Mirzapur’ in both the seasons as he sported monotone pathanis and kurtas with pockets. Additionally, how can we forget his traditional velvet crimson sherwani as he tied the knot in court with the CM’s daughter Madhuri Yadav!
Firoz Khan – A Suitable Boy (played by Shubham Saraf)
The chocolate boy who charmed everyone with his respectful personality across the series ‘A Suitable Boy’ sported some of the most classic silk kurtas and bandis for the celebratory wedding scenes.
Sartaj Singh – Sacred Games (played by Saif Ali Khan)
The hardworking Mumbai Police Inspector Sartaj Singh in Netflix’s Sacred Games portrayed conflicting personalities across both the seasons. What caught our eye was his choice of simple kurtas while he spent time at Guruji’s Ashram.
Bharat Tyagi – Mirzapur (played by Vijay Varma)
Vijay Varma did a double whammy when he effortlessly played both the characters of twins, brothers Chotte and Bade Tyagi in Mirzapur in its latest season. We loved his minimalist choice of a white mandarin collar shirt paired with a brown bandi which he carried off effortlessly while playing the Bihari businessman’s son.
Krish Kalra – Taish (played by Ankur Rathee)
The upcoming model turned actor nailed his groom game in ZEE5 Original’s Taish wherein he wore a peach kurta set paired with a floral bandi by Payal Singhal.
Dr. Amir Warsi – Four More Shots Please (played by Milind Soman)
The gynaecologist in Amazon Prime’s ‘Four More Shots Please’ lured every woman with his attractive character. We saw the actor’s desi avatar in a smart black indo-western outfit at a destination wedding he attends in season 2 of the series.
Ganesh Gaitonde – Sacred Games (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui)
Gangster Ganesh Gaitonde went minimalistic on his own wedding day with a simple beige silk kurta.
Rohan Kalra – Taish (played by Jim Sarbh)
The level headed character played by Jim in ZEE5 Original’s Taish wears a summery organza kurta with birds embroidered on it which he pairs with a navy silk churidaar at his younger brother’s wedding.
