Ushering in their anniversary with adventure and idyllic landscapes – this couple’s New Zealand trip will awaken your wanderlust!
Travel & Honeymoon - Jun 4, 2024
College sweethearts, Adith and Vaishnavi Linga had always dreamt of travelling the awe-inspiring landscape of New Zealand. Making their dreams come true in the most seamless way possible was WeddingSutra Favorite – The Travel Bus Co. who planned the perfect itinerary for the couple’s fifth-anniversary trip.
Describing how they went about planning the trip and what led them to make the decisions, Vaishnavi shares, “Both of us love the look and vibe of a European Christmas. However, both of us have travelled to Europe several times. Consequently, we started looking for new alternatives and New Zealand entered the discussion! We’ve always loved the ethereal beauty of the country and since we’ve always kept flying to the west, the east seemed like a good choice.
Once we’d selected the country, we connected with The Travel Bus Co. who were pivotal in planning the entire trip. It saved me a ton of time I would’ve otherwise spent planning. They were prompt and professional in their services. The 12-day December trip was hassle-free and we had the best anniversary ever!”
Best meal of the trip:
“The country has so many things to offer and there are too many restaurants to choose from! Our top three picks are:
– Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant, Waiheke Island
– Tatsumi Modern Japanese Dining, Queenstown
– Rātā, Queenstown”
Most romantic moment:
Vaishnavi says, “The weather gods blessed us on our drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy. It was one of the best drives that we’ve been on. On our way back, we picked up some food and drinks, parked our car by this beautiful lake where we were in complete isolation and had a little picnic while watching the sunset! Adith even took a quick dip in the lake!
This is what I loved about New Zealand, it’s beautiful everywhere you look and I was in awe of the natural landscapes all around.”
Advice
Vaishnavi shares, “Book a car in advance (especially if it’s a peak travel season) as it would be impossible to find a car if you don’t pre-book. And honestly, you can’t do much in New Zealand if you don’t have your transportation.
Don’t run after a schedule/ list of things to do. We enjoyed doing things at our own pace.
Travel light as you’ll be moving around a lot and New Zealand is not where you’d care about bringing your fashion game. It’s more about activity, comfort and adventure. Just a couple of dressy tops were enough for our dinner dates in Queenstown.”
