Using experiential themes that transported the guests to a new world altogether, this couple’s sleek wedding was a multi-sensory experience!
Wedding Planning - Jan 31, 2024
Priyanka Sukhija and Arjun Bajaj’s wedding in Delhi looked straight out of a storybook. Going with the bride’s vision, WeddingSutra Favorite – Nazara thoughtfully designed each event from a Dior-themed mehndi, a nostalgic haldi to a wedding setup that resembled the sets of a Karan Johar flick!
Wedding Planning
Kriti Sharma from Nazara shares, “The only brief I had from the couple is that they wanted their events to look more like an experience than the conventional designs one usually sees. The aim was to transport the guest to a theme-based experiential event every single time as they celebrated with the couple.”
Wedding Functions
Mehendi
Kriti shares, “The mehendi event was designed around Dior prints and props. We named it ‘Garden of Dior’. We kept it simple and minimal and played more with florals and prints. No massive structures were included. Instead, the focus was on detailing every element.”
Sangeet
Kriti shares, “We gave the usual ‘Great Gatsby’ theme a twist where instead of black and gold we did charcoal and dull gold with a balanced use of lights. Wall-mounted lights and a feather coffee table were used. We embraced locally available florals and used them as long table centerpieces.”
Haldi
Kriti shares, “The couple was keen on a traditional haldi theme but not regular decor. We played with yellow and pink only but used lotus as the key element for backdrops and bar etc. On the groom’s mom’s insistence, we added a ‘bachpan ki yaadein’ corner where we placed all the childhood candies. This theme was Indian but accessorized with new ideas and concepts to create a beautiful atmosphere.”
Wedding
Kriti recollects, “As the bride said, ‘I want a Karan Johar set for my wedding!’ Since time was running short and the venue was given to us for just one day, we ensured that we got as close to her vision as possible. Champagne and gold dominated the color palette. 300 kgs of mogra and 45 chandeliers were used at the entrance. It was an experiential walkway since you could see and smell it at the same time. The Mandap was made using mogra, pearls, champagne-hued organza fabric and chandeliers.”
