Vibrant and innately Indian, this couple’s engagement decor was the perfect fusion of warmth and grandeur!
Wedding Planning - Dec 13, 2022
Vedika Tibrewal, an entrepreneur and the founder of Scoopski’s engagement with Yash Shah, a builder was a colourful one hosted at their family’s farmhouse in Gujarat. Surrounded by lush natural beauty, this venue offered one plenty of space to maximise one’s creativity, which is exactly what WeddingSutra Favorite – Pristine Paige Events did, as they styled the decor keeping the duo’s vision in mind.
Sharing the brief she received from the couple, Purva Patel from Pristine Paige Events says, “The couple wanted a decor theme that blended with the interior of the venue and also with the colour palette of their outfit. They wanted to keep it natural and distinctly Indian. So, the design team decided to curate a traditional theme with marigolds, floral rangolis, vintage-style props, old-style candelabras and beautiful seating.”
However, orchestrating a decor was not without its challenges as the team had to adapt to the landscape and ensure that everything looked absolutely flawless. Purva shares, “The home’s courtyard area where the engagement ceremony was to be held presented a challenge for us. We had ideated on a decor theme where floral tassels would hang from a canopy but due to the waterbody around the area, we couldn’t use a truss structure! Plus, we also wanted to hang the tassels in an arch format to complement the venue’s architecture. In short, it was a battle between creativity and logistics where we struggled to find a middle ground. Finally, the team brainstormed and created a wire mesh from the existing structure and hung all the floral tassels in an arch format, which was quite a challenging task!”
With a white and yellow colour palette that carried tinges of pink, the decor looked traditional with a hint of modern flamboyance. Giving us an overview of how the decor team bought this vision to life, Purva shares, “The design carefully curated the theme in a way that seamlessly fit with the surroundings. It was a complete traditional decor around marigolds, vintage-style props, larger-than-life setups, traditional-style diyas and floral rangoli. The use of old-style candelabras, banana leaves, elephant props, floral tassels, beautiful urlis and traditional-style seating gave it such a warm look. Chandeliers and floral arrangements made the dining experience one-of-a-kind.”
