Vienna to host big Indian wedding this weekend!

The allure of Europe is well-known and potent. With its majestic architecture, ‘too good to be true’ vistas and luxurious hospitality, Indian weddings have found a match in Europe. And, the same holds for Niraj Rughani and Kajal Tank who’ve decided to plunge into marital bliss with one of the biggest NRI European summer weddings in Vienna, Austria.
Niraj, founder of Vici London, is a luxury property developer, based in Dubai, known for creating some of the world’s most opulent palatial style residences, yachts and private jets for the ultra-high net worth market. Kajal, on the other hand, is a London-based private banker. Post their wedding the couple plans to settle in Dubai.
Touted to be one of the biggest NRI weddings of the year in Europe, this extravagant union has approximately 250 service staff flying in from around the world to cater to guests, a host of Michelin star chefs to rustle up the finest delicacies and a long VIP guestlist. Plus, ace Indian designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla are custom-designing the couple’s entire wedding wardrobe! A destination wedding of this big a scale requires a wedding squad that is seasoned, creative and has a keen eye for the smallest of details. The couple has cherry-picked top wedding names like Designs by Sakshi Jerath, Aditya Motwane from MEW, and Foodlink Luxury Catering, to name a few.
The larger-than-life celebrations will span three days from the 2nd of August to the 4th of August. As ardent admirers of culture and art, Niraj and Kajal will host their festivities across historic venues in the city. Gartenpalais Liechtenstein, home to the Royal House of Liechtenstein with its prestigious art collection will host the sangeet themed as ‘Vienna meets India’. This will be followed by a series of traditional Gujarati pre-wedding ceremonies, like, Mandvo, that will be hosted at Park Hyatt in Vienna, a hotel that traces its roots back to 1915 when it used to be a bank!
For their big day, the couple has chosen the iconic Belvedere Palace – a ‘UNESCO World Heritage Site’ boasting many artistic treasures, one of them being Klimt’s ‘The Kiss’. The ceremony, aptly named the ‘Golden Kiss’ plans to celebrate Kajal and Niraj’s Gujarati heritage with authentic gastronomic delights inspired by Gujarati restaurants across India. The grand finale of the wedding will be hosted at Spanish Riding School in Vienna which was established in 1572 and boasts of an opulent arena adorned with winged cherubs and gilded chandeliers.
