Wedding Invitations to match bridal outfits – Inspirations from Lakmé Fashion Week 2016
Bridal Fashion and Beauty, Wedding Planning - May 5, 2016
By Ramya Ramaswamy, Kards
As Lakmé Fashion Week came to a close, we left suffused with concepts and inspiration for bridal trousseaux. The ramps bloomed with the hottest colours of the season – saturated pastels, ethnic neutrals, Indian indigos – showcasing an exciting colour wheel from which to pick your wedding hues. If you’re a creative bride-to-be who is considering a particular colour spectrum for your wedding theme, we have some ideas!
At Kards, the shows set our creative wheels turning and we designed invitation cards to match the patterns and colors of our favourite bridal outfits. These will create an aura of sophistication and make a statement as a way to announce your big day, but also give your guests a tantalizing sneak-peek into what they can expect. Here are a selection of our custom designed invitations to match the most beautiful wedding outfits fresh off the runways of the Lakmé Fashion Week 2016!
Pattern Perfect
Send out accents from your lehenga with your invitation card. Here, the card is embellished with traditional motifs that reference the elegant designs of the lehenga/choli.

Colour Complement
Pick a few of the colours from your outfit to create your invitation. We’d suggest choosing no more than two prominent colours and then playing with saturation to achieve an inimitable elegance.

Texture and style synchronized
Evoke the textures of silk and embroidery and the patterns of your lehenga with your invitation card. Accenting the base with gold or silver will add an exclusive opulence.
