With pastel blooms, pink teacups and vases, the decor at this mehendi infused the venue with elegance and an old-world charm
Wedding Planning - Aug 7, 2020
Basking under the bright sun and surrounded by the salty sea breeze, this mehendi ceremony, conceptualized and executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Amaahyaaj, a decor company renowned its creative prowess when it comes to celebrating the union of two souls, set the bar high with its unique decor choices.
Set amidst the beautiful lawns of The Waldorf Astoria, Ras Al Khaimah, the theme of the event was inspired by the bride’s love for ‘shabby chic’. Being the pilot event of the two-day wedding celebration and the opportunity to create a perfect first impression Team Amaahyaaj delved into the far reaches of their creative horizons with the single aim to mesmerize.
When quizzed about her creative process behind the decor, Heena Patel, Founder at Amaahyaaj shared’, “Apart from the visual brilliance we had to finely balance the aesthetics to ensure that we make it an ideal and comfortable space for guests to be able to mingle and break the ice.
Keeping the theme in mind we used pastel-colored lamps and cake charlie’s in abundance along with an interesting mix of furniture like the Dior cane back chairs, pouffes and crown chairs that added a tinge of antique charm. And then our favorite part was the flowers! We used a wide range of exotic pastel flowers in volumes at various locations thereby making it a perfect shabby chic.
Since the couple had always dreamt of having a wedding that would be unique, elegant, and spirited, they wanted the theme to bring back the old world charm but with a contemporary touch. With our task cut out for us and countless mind-numbing brainstorming sessions we went about designing the theme.
Being a day event and with the bright sun right above us, we decided to get a little playful with the signature Amaahyaaj drapes in light hues. The décor was functional wherein the bar and the food buffet were also dressed as per the theme. Different experiences like an exclusive bridal seating and a cake charlie installation were the star attractions. The bride’s love and passion for food were put on display through the intricate décor at the food buffet section. Additionally, the tables were adorned with an interesting mix of books, lamps, shells, pearls and other elegant elements that looked beautiful under the sun.
We left no stone unturned to make all their dreams come true and ensured they took back happy memories that’ll last a lifetime. Every decor detail was looked into meticulously and executed with utter professionalism.”
