With Weddingsutra on Location- Aradhana Jain
Bridal Fashion and Beauty - Oct 3, 2013
As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location,’ we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Ensemble, the multi designer store near Lions Gate, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo shoot, each of the four participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services. Here in the second of the four-part series, bride-to-be Aradhana Jain, who works as a Brand Strategist with a Technology firm, blogs about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location.
‘As the wedding day approaches, every girl is anxious when she thinks about the wedding dress options, and wonders what her wedding day look will turn out to be- and I am no different. So when I and my best friend (Shagun Sarabhai) got an invitation to come to WS on Location, I knew this is a not-to-be-missed- experience. I got engaged to Dhanraj Minawala in July and we are getting married in Mumbai in February 2014. A few more friends of ours are getting married between November 2013 and February 2014 so we keep exchanging notes- venues, bridal and grooms wear, makeup artists, photographers and more. But weddings now being such a complex (and personal) affair, the more you get to know, the more you want to know. My fiancé spends a fair bit of time on all this too, and being in the Wedding Jewellery space (he runs a company named The Wedding Jewellery Planner) he logs on to www.weddingsutra.com more often than I do. So when he got to know that I am invited to WeddingSutra on Location he was equally happy.
My experience at Ensemble started with an introduction with the WeddingSutra Team and the experts they had invited. My first interaction was with Wedding Planner Neha Shroff. After knowing more about my likes and dislikes, she showed me around the store, and suggested a few outfits to try. I really liked a mustard lehenga by Tarun Tahiliani for its unusual color and luckily it fitted very well. It was paired with a rust orange velvet corset blouse and with pearl, Swarovski crystals, resham and aplique work all over the lehenga. Neha and my friend Shagun then helped me check out the jewellery options from Azva. I chose a set which I loved for its fine craftsmanship and contemporary look. The set had a choker and jhumki earrings with a rich engraving of floral patterns and a wide bangle (kada).
I then proceeded to get my makeup done by Kumar Iyer. I didn’t have any particular look in mind, so I decided to leave it to Kumar to do what he does best. He eventually gave me a look that complemented my outfit very well. I loved how the make-up was subtle, yet dressy. Finally, it was time for the photo shoot with Photographer Shreya Sen. She was absolutely brilliant and made me feel extremely comfortable while shooting. I enjoyed smiling and being my natural self as she clicked away. Overall, my day at Ensemble was most memorable, as playing bride-to-be made me feel pampered and special, and what better than to experience it all with a best friend!’
